What I love so much is that you can't keep the Moroccans down. Here they are homeless but they are STILL sharing their hospitality with me. Offers of tea and chicken tagine. 🇲🇦🤲🏻🙏🏻
Almost all the shops in Imlil are shut but Hajj Omar is open for business. He may not have too much for sale but he is there and working. The Moroccan spirit روح المغرب

A tight squeeze for these tourists today in the Marrakech medina. The areas I walked through were all safe and open so don't cancel - in fact book a trip! ❤️🇲🇦

I'm sure many of you remember pictures of the earthquake shattered mosque in Jema el Fna in Marrakech. It's being rebuilt and they've put up this beautiful cover in the meantime.
Two friends from Scotland came to visit. They couldn't believe the beauty of the view from my roof. We ate tagine, they bought some souvenirs. So, a little money into people's pockets and two more people who❤️Morocco.
I said in my podcast I'd set up a GoFundMe for Morocco. Then I saw that the British Moroccan Society had one. They are brilliant, honest and all the money will go to desperate Atlas Mountains communities. So please do make a donation and pass on.
I've written this for the

Should you come and visit Morocco in the words of the people who live and work here. Short answer is yes please.
A day of horrible reality as I see with my own eyes what has happened down near the epicentre and talk to people who have lost loved ones. Tragedy. Thank you all for your thoughts. Will post podcast tomorrow am. 🤲🏻🙏🏻🇲🇦
What makes me always want to come back to Morocco?
Custom's Official: اليس عندي كلمة وحدة لك. المغرب يحبك.
'Alice, I have one thing to say to you. Morocco loves you.'
It's mutual! ❤️🇲🇦❤️
An aftershock hit as I post this and made me run for the door. Both these images are from yesterday. Imlil is safe الحمد لله. But all those villages like Aharchi need our help. Please keep us in your thoughts 🤲🏻🇲🇦🙏🏻 And donate if you can

Asni Saturday market where I do my weekly shopping. A sign of normality returning. Even though - opposite - there is a tented camp for the homeless.

عيد مبارك سعيد! Wishing all of you, my friends, a happy and peaceful Eid. Thinking of those for whom peace and plenty is still far away and hoping for a better future.
This is why I ❤️ Morocco. 2 strange men just knocked at my door. 'Excuse us. But a kitten is crying from inside your car.' I run down the mule track. It's stuck in the engine. Then everyone helps till we rescue it. الحمدلله على السلامة. You'll hear its little miaows in the video.
I did a special episode of the podcast last night. Alice in wAnderland It's on all platforms. I want to try and express what it's like as a human not just a news story. Thank you all so much for the messages.
I arrived late at night with no food for breakfast - but no problem. Hafida sent her daughter Aïcha round with aghrum d tiglai tbildi - home made bread and fresh eggs from the hens. A feast! بصحة #

Chefchaouen by night. The sheer blueness of the place always takes me by surprise. It has changed a lot since I was last there. Many more tourists and tourist shops. The town is growing and bustling.
Scotland has not forgotten Morocco. I was commissioned to write this update on how people are doing after the earthquake for our national newspaper
