me: i need a quick lil easy project to learn how to use clip studio
my brain: how about an intricate 7 page comic about nothing in particular that will take you at least two weeks to make??
Another job, another sunset, this time a poster for Cassandra Clare's new book Queen of Air and Darkness (I also did TEN whole illustrations of these powerful teenagers for the first edition 🤯)
In the last year I've been asked to do no less than THREE beach sunset illustrations. Here's one of them, Perch Rock lighthouse for
@GiantSpectacle
which is landing in Liverpool next week
new bird painting: her ruby eye, wings of pearl
collared doves aren't the most exciting or exotic bird but they make a great meal for local raptors and I think that's beautiful 🦅
the beautiful thief
A horde of starlings lived off my fig tree last summer (thanks guys for saving me from fig hell), the juveniles look so weird with half drab brown baby plumage and half insane iridescent adult feathers
new bird painting: Wormeater
You can recognise individual buzzards by their distinctive "mayoral chain" patterning. According to my observations this guy's favourite food is worms. 🪱🦅
I don't normally post private commissions because they are too weird, but these are weird times and I had fun doing this one - a commemorative poster for a Horror on the Orient Express campaign (props to the person who played as Poirot)
I felt compelled to do some (relatively 👀) quick portraits of my two massively annoying D&D characters: Brow, the elven ranger who can't stop banging on about how great elves are, and Ono, the tiefling paladin
Something I've been working on, on and off, since wisteria season: the entrance to my local park
@stephenshouse
currently running on fallen petals and community donations
here's something nice for you: I gathered up my clip studio paint brushes and made them available for free. You can make a big mess with them or paint a fucked up wizard, up to you
Some Procreate drawings of characters from my D&D campaign - Gary the sentient gargoyle chiselled off a castle door and Deanna the showboating swordswoman freed by the party to take mysterious revenge
Alternate dust jackets for a
@FaeCrate
box, this time it's the Infernal Devices trilogy starring Will Herondale, Tessa Gray and Jem Carstairs
(repost to save face after getting the series title wrong 👀)

Doesn't have to be a pose ref, could be a landscape, animal, texture, etc.
Show me!! 🥰
i really wanted to do a big illustration of a eurasian jay but realised after starting that my reference wasn't detailed enough so it turned into more of a texture/colour study. I love the expression though, SO pleased with itself
Some book illustrations from 2018 for Queen of Air and Darkness. I loved the challenge of working in greyscale for these, something I rarely get asked to do.
