This is so incredibly sad. Amos was a great mentor. I just saw him a few months ago and he was still excited about research. 😢
We are deeply saddened to share that our friend and colleague Professor Amos B. Smith III has passed away. Amos joined Penn in 1973 and was a mainstay in our organic chemistry division. He recently celebrated 50 years of service to @PennSAS @Penn.

As an American, it's embarrassing and shameful to see what Trump and Musk are doing to damage the U.S.'s relationships with our closest allies. Anyone who voted for those clowns owns whatever economic and geopolitical consequences result. And egg prices are up.

@simocristea @sama Modalities such as bispecifics and ADCs will improve outcomes to patients but only on margin. Synthetic lethality seems to be limited to CDKs & PARP and have a ceiling with toxicity. We lack good targets, and the data out there already and “AI” isn’t going to deliver there.

@ammattipyoraily I’ve been riding in Calpe in the winter for almost a decade. Used to be more time trial efforts. Now I see a lot of lactate testing. Teams have riders ride up at a set power, measure lactate, then repeat +20W or so, over and over
