I think saying these idols can't dance is the not the right angle. Idols can dance it's just 90% of them were taught "learn to do this perfectly in this exact way" not "this is your template, create and make it yours" it's synchronicity>creativity.

It makes them really efficient in group settings. Drilled hard enough even the weakest dancer can get the sync right so it works really well in kpop but otherwise you get stuff like this challenge where everyone is trying to match Bada and it really doesn't work.
