@BCBSTX Denying a STANDARD OF CARE Cancer treatment. Where is insurance when you need it? This is why physicians burnout. @etharkamal @SIRspecialists
Denied a standard-of-care procedure after countless hours battling with the insurance company?! A biopsy-proven RCC in a single kidney patient , morbid obesity, and unfit for surgery—what better indication for microwave ablation? This is unacceptable @BCBSTX @SIRspecialists

Could not have asked for more supportive staff during training who all really cared about their trainees in all aspects of their life. Well deserved recognition for a program that will always be home to me @jdprologo @billmajdalany @NimaKokabiMD @markemullins @AmitSaindane

@drcostantino1 @dougbeall @drmcumming @MeritMedical This belongs in a book - great coverage all the way to the posterior wall and superior endplate. Imagine the patient feels great! Was it hard to steer/learn how to do it? Have not used directional needle yet.

@RichDuszak @UMMCRads @NeimanHPI @JACRJournal @UMMCnews @RadiologyACR @Dx_imaging @AuntMinnie @HealthImaging @TheImagingWire @amykpatel @MarilynHeineMD @AtulGroverMD @AAMCtoday Serious question though- is this legal? Or is radiology so poorly regulated that anyone can read it without worrying about consequences in missing an important finding/affecting patient care ? NP/PA can’t remove a gallbladder on their own, treat cancer independently…

3 week post follow-up: Intermittent 2/10 L sciatic pain 2-3x/day, deep pelvic pain 0/10. Continued tumoral contracture s.p. #cryoablation likely the explanation. Improving QOL in cancer patients with less opioids. @jdprologo @SIRspecialists @bostonsci @ASALifeline @Nadia_Hdz_MD
50 y.o. metastatic and LR CRC still ambulatory causing 10/10 sciatic and 7/10 deep pelvic pain. S/P L sciatic nerve block and carefully planned #cryo tumor debulking. 1 week post- pain down by half, still ambulating (See more below). @SIRspecialists @bostonsci @jdprologo

@MVGutierrezMD @DGlaucomflecken @AAPMR That it is not just a disease of the lungs. It can causes elevations in HR, dysautonomia, and severe brain fog that impair a person from working/functioning.With regards to insurances: I have been long fighting for stellate ganglion blocks (and now cryo) which help with all sxs.

@SIRspecialists @bostonsci @jdprologo Sciatic shooting nerve pain gone, intermittent 4/10 cramping/pressure pain in gluteal region now. Pain in pelvis now only intermittent 4/10, occurs 2-3x/day and lasts for 5-10 minutes, Character now pressure/shooting, but much more tolerable. Patient preparing for next vacation.

@usnehal @drsxr @drmcumming @roblookstein @SIRspecialists Happy to help if you want to DM me. Honestly, I think we need to do more as consultants/a society at engaging our OBGYN colleagues/ACOG since they are their patients with a focus on collaboration rather than one tx better than another.
