Still proud of this speech I gave in April, launching Issue 47(1) of the UNSW Law Journal. I talk about current LGBTIQ law reform issues in NSW, intertwined with some personal experiences as a member of, & advocate for, the LGBTIQ community. [From 18:55]

A reminder I've joined the exodus to the other place, and will be posting only infrequently (if at all) on here from now on. Hope to see you all where the skies are blue...

Honestly, what else is there to say? That hasn't already been said, in myriad ways, on this hell-site over the past 24 hrs? And obviously this hell-site, & especially its owner, are part of the problem. Anyway, it's probably time to step away and (re-)think deeply for a bit...

The Australian still publishing its regular attacks on health care for trans kids. Surely even the so-called journalists involved must be getting bored of pumping out this ill-informed drivel...

Speaking outside court, Faruqi said the decision was a ā€œwarning to people like Senator Hanson & others that they will be held accountable for the hate speech that comes out of their mouthsā€. ā€˜This ruling draws a line that hate speech is not free speech.ā€™

JD Vance apparently said this today: "Frankly, I wouldnā€™t be surprised if me and Trump won just the normal gay guy vote because, again, they just wanted to be left the hell alone." Yeah, not today Satan. Or tomorrow either. #LGBwiththeT. Always.

"Stewart found Hansonā€™s comment that Faruqi should ā€œpiss off back to Pakistanā€ was a ā€œvariant of the slogan ā€˜go back to from where you came fromā€™ā€ which he said was an ā€œevident racist tropeā€ and a ā€œstrong form of racismā€. #auspol #auslaw

"Almost half of LGBTQ+ respondents (46%) reported being a victim of at least one crime in the previous year, compared to a third of non-LGBTQ+ people (31%)." Difficult to see this not being replicated on this side of the Tasman too.

Sadly, it seems unlikely the new LNP Govt will end the abhorrent 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' laws for LGBTQ teachers in religious schools, reinforcing how disappointing it was for the Labor Govt to walk away from its promises on this issue in June. #qldpol

"Students and faculty of the catholic university had staged a mass walkout when de Bruyn started comparing abortion to deaths during World War 2, and railed against same-sex marriages and IVF for women." Good. His views don't deserve an audience.
