1. so starting off with Alec, in both All Stars and season 1 Alec has been shown to be a neglectful father in multiple instances. He never loved his son, he said that he wished his son were more like Fiore and also said that he ignored his son when his son when he was hurt.

The reason I bring up Alec track record is because Fiore is shown to have trust issues. This is shown in her betrayal of Alec in season 1. Fiore knows that Alec was a neglectful father, and thinks while looking after her he would be the same. (proven in a greeting).

Ashley overall is quite a likeable character, she's quite funny and kind to those who she believes deserves her positivity. But that's the problem, she's nice to people who she BELIEVES deserves her kindness.

When Ashley first sees Fiore, she doesn't even give herself the chance to see if maybe Fiore had changed over the past two years. Considering children change quite quickly it would be actually quite more expected that Fiore HAD changed but Ashley didn’t even think of this.

Ashley literally says that she wishes For Fiore to be hurt physically AGAIN, without even giving Fiore the chance to show if she has changed at all. You may say that Fiore yelled at Ashley, but she yelled at Ashley for landing on her, which was completely fair.

2. Adoption is a VERY LONG process, involving lots of paperwork, consent and possible trauma. To have Alec adopt Fiore you would need the consent of Fiore's parents or the government (judging on Fiore's current housing situation).

You may think that Fiore knowing Alec makes it easier for her but in a lot of cases it would make it harder, in cases where victims of abuse become untrusting, rough and overprotective of themselves, to the point of becoming violent, physically or vocally. (1).

Fiore has a very high level PTSD, even if she doesn't show it through usual depictions of PTSD, she definitely has it. The way she acts is due to trauma, the way she acts is NOT her fault and never will be, her 'personality' is a wall she has put up to protect herself.
