The disappearance of my mother is a clear indication of cultural genocide. Another example is Uyghur women being forced to marry to Han Chinese men. I came across this video where the bride's unhappy expression makes me suspect that this is a forced marriage.

But I hold onto the hope that one day, my mother will be able to see this in her own eyes. Before that day, let us share here to ensure that her work and contribution to Uyghur culture are never forgotten.

Today, I received this paper certificate for my mother’s honorary award, and I want to extend my deepest gratitude to @SOAS for sending it. Unfortunately, I can’t hand these certificates to my mother Rahile Dawut.
