Another note for Electra 11.2-11.3.1: If your device suddenly displayed a black screen with a spinner on it after Electra's UI reached Stage 2/3, the jailbreak has /succeeded/.
If you do not see Cydia, SSH into your device as mobile and run uicache, or hard reset your device.
After 3 months of me being dead here on Twitter, AppSync Unified will be receiving an iOS 14 compatible update within the next week.
Thank you for remaining patient.
The power of the
#unc0ver
hype is apparently too much for my servers to handle and you guys have hugged it to death again… already LOL
Sorry guys I'm too poor to afford more servers wwwwww
My repo () should be back up now — apologies for the earlier downtime, there's just so many of you new jailbreakers that my server was hugged to death wwwww
[UPDATE] AppSync Unified 90.0 — Massive rewrite of AppSync Unified that now fully supports all current iOS 14.x versions, while also improving the experience for all other iOS versions (even iOS 5/6!)
[UPDATE] AppSync Unified 64.0 — Now compatible with all iOS 12 and 13 versions up to 13.2.2 for all devices!
Big thanks to
@NikkiNikkiTembo
for letting me test on her iOS 13 device while I sort out flashing one of my own <33
Obviously this is just my own personal opinion, but I personally do not believe that iOS jailbreaking is "dead".
iOS jailbreaking will only die if we, the community, let it die.
Also, I've been terribly ill with the flu for the past 4 days, so updates for iOS 12 may be slowed until I get better.
That being said, iOS 12-compatible version of AppSync Unified will be releasing soon.
arm64e/A12(X) support coming to all my iOS 12 compatible tweaks very soon, hopefully by the end of today or tomorrow.
Thank you for being patient with me — last few weeks were absolute hell
⊂⌒~⊃。Д。🍍)⊃
The AppSync Unified update will support all currently-known versions of iOS 14.x — from iOS 14.0 to iOS 14.4.
Also, it'll fix a rare bug that apparently happens sometimes on iOS 6.
If you're using unc0ver and trying to install AppSync Unified but Cydia/Zebra/etc. is telling you to uninstall Substitute, this means you are using an outdated version of unc0ver and/or Substitute.
Please update your version of unc0ver.
v3.7.0~b3 or HIGHER will work.
Note to all those using Electra for 11.2-11.3.1 — disabling Siri seems to have absolutely /no effect/ whatsoever on the vfs exploit success rate, HOWEVER, enabling Airplane Mode seems to significantly increase it in my experience.
In other news, iOS 14 compatible AppSync Unified is in development.
There are some changes in iOS 14's installd that need to be accounted for before a release can be made.
Please remain patient.
So, I have some very good news to share with you all: I've managed to fix AppSync Unified on A12 (arm64e) devices!!
Unfortunately, I am currently not yet able to release this update as it right now it only works on unc0ver due to a bugfix that Chimera has not (yet) implemented.
Now that an A12-compatible ASU is released…
I just wanted to really apologise to everyone for the long, /long/ delay it has taken for me to make this work.
It's been a long, frustrating few months l o l
You can expect more updates to my other tweaks in the coming days.
So, seems like someone decided to make a tweet claiming that I have died from the flu and some people actually /believed/ this.
…
That being said, no, I am not dead.
Just wanted to say that I am NOT leaving the jailbreak community, nor have I ever intended to.
…And I'm not participating in that copy-paste tweet that is going around certain developers in the community, either.
Please, this isn't the right thing to do, you all.
[UPDATE] AppSync Unified 60.0 — Now with full compatibility with all A12 (arm64e) devices running both unc0ver and Chimera!
(Also fixed the issue blocking installation on A11 and lower devices running Chimera or Electra)
For those concerned: Yes,
@Pwn20wnd
sought permission from me to include AppSync Unified 70.0 with unc0ver 4.0.1 to fix a bug regarding installing apps from the App Store on arm64e devices running iOS 13.
Gonna ramble again for a bit:
Why is it so hard for some people to just… respect others?
Why does there have to be a split between "saurik vs. {CoolStar | kirb | etc.}"?
Can't we all get along and appreciate all the hard work that these developers have done?
A proper release of AppSync Unified supporting iOS versions up to 16.2 will be coming sometime today!
Thanks to Shatyuka for saving me some work required for proper iOS >= 15 support, and to
@ce_isour
for testing on their iOS 16.2 device!
LRT: Someone (@itachi_yukari) wrote a Chrome extension that automatically redirects all YouTube shorts to the regular YouTube player UI, which restores functionality such as pausing/seeking, as well as not forcing the video to loop forever.
Get it here:
There is NO AppSync Unified for iOS 14 yet.
I'm still working on it (and also dealing with complicated, difficult life things).
There exists various modified copies floating around with my iOS version check removed. (One such version being a so-called "Panda" version.) […]
Regarding AppSync Unified on iOS 15:
I will push an iOS 15 update for AppSync Unified as soon as I verify that it… well, doesn't horribly break anything.
Apologies for the over-cautious nature that I use with ASU — there is a very good reason why I do this.
Once a jailbreak is available for iOS 14, I'm going to add a feature to mikoto that disables the App Drawer page on SpringBoard >_>
(I don't have a device on iOS 14 but I've heard that you can't disable that extra page…)
Re: AppSync Unified for A12 — please stay patient.
Depending on how a certain thing works out, support may (or may not) have been fixed for it. Just need some time to test and all.
[UPDATE] AppSync Unified 30.0 — Now compatible with iOS 11.4! (and yet another artificial version number bump to combat issues caused by third-party modifications)
Shoutout to
@NepetaDev
— she makes some really great tweaks. (Her repo's in her Twitter description.)
(She's also like, the only other active female developer in this community that I know of ;;;;;;; moar gorls pls)
Though, on that thought… I've received several messages […]
[UPDATE] AppSync Unified 65.0 — Now fully works WITHOUT requiring a reboot/ldrestart, and supports iOS 13.3 beta! (self.jailbreak)
Thanks again to
@NikkiNikkiTembo
for letting me use her iOS 13 devices (D22, N69u) to test!! 💕
Pleasantly surprised that Apple added keyboard haptics to iOS 16.
(This functionality was previously only achievable via jailbreak tweaks.)
Then again, a lot of the iOS 16 features in general seem to be loosely based off of jailbreak tweaks ;P
AppSync Unified /should/ be fully compatible with iOS 12.4, non-A12.
I'll wait for some test results, but this should be a /very/ quick update.
Don't hold back on going to 12.4 because of AppSync Unified.
I've spoken about this before, but I'll say it again — please stop trying to divide the community with all this "saurik vs. (CoolStar or whoever)" stupidity.
Both are very capable developers, but above that, both are real people and deserve to be treated with respect.
[UPDATE] AppSync Unified 24.0 — confirmed compatibility with all supported iOS versions up to iOS 11.3.1, artificial version number bump to combat issues caused by third-party modifications
Somehow I keep writing code that just so happens to find flaws/issues in Substitute…
Might have helped find another Substitute bug while testing NO PLS RECOVERY on arm64e (A12) l o l
Hire me to test your stuff, I can apparently break anything I touch ;P
/cc
@sbingner
My tweaks are not yet updated for arm64e/A12(X) devices.
Unfortunately, please understand that due to complicated personal life circumstances, I will be very busy until Thursday afternoon and will not have time to test and release updates.
These updates will purely be […]
Here are some known Cydia/APT piracy repositories that are rehosting OLD repacked versions of AppSync Unified — please do not install AppSync Unified from these sources as you WILL BREAK your iOS 11 jailbreak (dpkg error 126).
BiteYourApple
dtathemes
SiNfuL iPhone
Just released AppSync Unified 72.0 that adds iOS 13.4 support.
Also blocks a few more modified package IDs found out in the wild (including some that have rather uh… amazing… names…)
My Cydia/APT repo's depiction pages now have smart version checks that detect your iOS version and display compatibility info based off of it!
Spent the last few hours working on this — do tell me if you manage to spot any bugs.
To answer the /literal/ hundreds of messages/emails I get about this every day, yes, AppSync Unified will receive an update for A12(X)/arm64e.
Please understand that development and testing of this version of ASU is particularly difficult given there being a bootloop risk.
Honestly, when people in the jailbreak community (both developers and users) refer to me as "a pillar of the jailbreak community" or something along those lines, I can't help but feel as I just… don't deserve it, or something like that.
Basically, to me, the people who […]
Apple: We're introducing the Touch Bar, which gives you dynamic, contextual actions/buttons!
Me: …
Me: [Configures the Touch Bar to perfectly replicate standard MacBook function/media keys instead]
(And yes, I show the F1, F2, etc. keys by default ww)
[UPDATE] AppSync Unified 78.0 — Now supporting iOS 13.5.1 and 13.5.5~b1!
Apologies for the delay in getting this one out. Things are still a mess for me.
iOS 11-compatible updates to my software will be released soon. The first few to be updated will be AirSpeaker, Sandbox Path Fixer, AppSync Unified, and App Installer (appinst).
mikoto 4.0 and my other software will receive updates later.
[UPDATE] Apple File Conduit "2" (iOS 11+, arm64) 1.1 — afc2d-arm64 now fully works on iOS 13 WITHOUT requiring a reboot/ldrestart!
Once again, huge thanks to
@NikkiNikkiTembo
for letting me use her iOS 13 devices (D22, N69u) to test this <3
Notice: I currently do not have access to any unc0ver-compatible iOS 12 devices so updates will be delayed until future versions add support for a wider range of devices.
Kinda wonder if it'd be possible to develop a separate dongle/device just to run the checkm8 exploit like /many/ people have done for the Fusée Gelée exploit for the Switch (Tegra) 🤔
For those who care, here's a tl;dr of the past… year, or so for me: Been struggling with depression/anxiety/mental health stuff, which made it really hard to put my energy into tweak development, hence the awkward lack of updates. I do feel really sorry about it.
So uh, NVIDIA apparently just… open-sourced their Linux GPU drivers under a dual MIT/GPL licence.
※ For Ampere and Turing only, at least for now…?
… Is the world finally coming to an end?
Regarding the checkm8 BootROM exploit:
[loud screaming in Japanese]
SEP signing is still be a problem that has to be dealt with, but this is /amazing/, dear gods
【EN, 日本語】 So… it seems that someone on the
#LycorisRecoil
production staff uses a jailbroken iOS device ;P
I've been meaning to make a thread about various tech-related things I've noticed in
#LycoReco
for a while now, but this finally pushed me to do it. [↓]
If AppSync Unified 64.0 is not working on iOS 13 for you, please reboot your device and re-jailbreak. (Or run ldrestart.)
Looking into this issue, seems like Apple changed something that I didn't notice somehow…
The next version will fix this (and add 13.3 support).
Disregarding the inevitable backlash I will get for this decision, I've decided to go ahead with my plans to release a version of AppSync Unified supporting iOS 12.1.x, 12.2.x, and 12.3 beta but WITHOUT A12 device support.
Sorry to all those who are disappointed.
Would anyone be interested in a "change default browser to Google Chrome" tweak for iOS 10 that doesn't break Safari/in-app SFSafariViewControllers and doesn't conflict with LinkOpener/MapsOpener?
I wrote one for personal use but am considering releasing it publicly…
mikoto for iOS 11 soon. Within the week, likely.
Afterwards, PreferenceOrganiser will enter beta for iOS 11 compatibility.
Sorry things have taken so long.
As always, AppSync Unified will be updated for the latest jailbreakable iOS versions once tweak injection becomes possible / the ecosystem matures enough.
※ Fugu15 is NOT currently useful for the average user — it is purely a developer-oriented jailbreak.
Updates will come to my other tweaks and utilities in time.
Quite a few of them (like AirSpeaker) very likely already work — I just don't feel comfortable saying that for certain until I've personally tested it, is all.
Released a beta of mikoto on my beta repo.
arm64e (A12/A13), iOS 12/13 compatible.
Not all features work yet, but the build is stable and will not crash your device. Broken features will just have no effect.
See this comment for more info:
[UPDATE] mikoto 4.0 — The wait is finally over!! Full iOS 10 and 11 support, lots of new features and bug fixes, and 日本語化はついに追加しました (finally added a Japanese localisation)!
