The argument isn't that regulators aren't needed, but rather, the system of regulation has gotten so out of have that we've strangled innovation. Anyone that is either working for the government and anyone dealing with regulators know how slow, corrupt, and inefficient the system is. We've gotten to a point that contractors rip off our government so preposterously, it's a pathetic look for people who "hold control of the collective purse". Government contractors and subsidizing effectively rape our tax money, and so do government workers, it's a disgrace and unaffordable.
