Flashback to early 2009, when there was a reality show called “Homeland Security USA” that aired only 7 episodes on ABC. It was likely produced under Bush with cooperation of the Department of Homeland Security. Similar complaints from advocates, but also low ratings.
Chicago advocates say that it is ‘dehumanizing’ to turn arrests into a reality show that often only features stories of immigrants that have been convicted of serious crimes and don’t present an overall picture of all of those who are getting arrested.
