you hit the jackpot here. most people make the excuse “i use it for my friends” but in reality, they see random content for 90% of the time they spend on the app.
i saw that problem with my friends, so i decided to help them out by building an app. if you’re interested, DM me.
I recently ran an experiment where I created a new IG account and only followed my closest friends… and the results were eye opening.
Some background:
1. Most people follow an average of 550 people. I follow 805.
2. Dunbars number states people can’t maintain more than 150

well said. it’s a california thing. one time we were in a restaurant for an hour and they kicked us out because the max was “1 hour”. I get that they have to make room for more people but we had ordered lots of food.

i’d highly suggest using supabase just for the toy version. that’s at least what i’m doing for my app.
building your own backend would take way too long. you can do that when there is some traction to the app. supabase is great for starting out and for a simple MVP.
