Last year our Information & Advice team raised £2.2m in unclaimed benefits and grants for older people. Our service is free and Age UK Bristol does all its own fundraising locally to raise the money to pay for this service.

It is a difficult financial situation for many older people. A recent report from the Institute for Fiscal Studies (July 2024) shows that from 2011 to 2020 income growth for poorer pensioners lagged behind the general population, meaning that there is relative pensioner poverty.
