Since it has been asked a few times, a “generation” in Monster Hunter is shown by the base game logo/emblem having wyvern heads. This isn’t a fan theory mind you, it was explain by Capcom to show that while MHWorld took a diff naming direction, it is 5th generation.

If you only play one weapon, the end game for base monster hunter games will feel smaller and more limited. The point is to enjoy crafting various weapons and armor so if you have decided on just one, well, that’s on you. Don’t blame the game and say there isn’t enough to do.
