Since it has been asked a few times, a “generation” in Monster Hunter is shown by the base game logo/emblem having wyvern heads. This isn’t a fan theory mind you, it was explain by Capcom to show that while MHWorld took a diff naming direction, it is 5th generation.

Honestly, I don't like seeing all the hunters at base camp, it is an immersion breaker for me and takes away the "dangerous out in nature" feeling. Gathering halls sure but not a camp outside. I'll turn this off or go single player lobby asap when the game is out.
