25% of everything versus 300% of a small part of american production (that is intended for exportation) that we almost already cover with national production. Compare the numbers, if they seem fair to you I can’t add anything. It’s a drop in the bucket. And the 25% is not about protecting farmers.

@Jackedcel @ViperWRLD17 @ArkadiaCoast You are right, it’s to protect Canadian industry for the most part. But the official justification for the 25% tariff was because of drugs and immigration. It was not sold as a protective thing for american economy. And Canada doesnt have as many mouth to feed than the US does.

These high tariffs apply specifically to imports that exceed established quotas. Within these quotas, the tariffs are much lower or even zero. This system is to stabilize domestic production and prices by limiting imports through high over-quota tariffs. We don’t need to buy more than we need.

I mean will they take it or not? If it’s that much of a problem for the americans that they are willing to destroy a foreign economy to stop it, why would this fentanyl would be taken by american drug traffickers? There is no demand for fent in the US? Just pointing out that it’s ridiculous. If you are asking for it, it doesnt matter where it comes from.
