I'm sorry but are you people never happy with anything ever. even if things don't work out this is still important to buck and i don't think he or maddie would want to forget it. something not working out doesn't mean it'll end badly.
going from breaking up a foster family to a woman cosplaying eddie's dead wife to help him grieve. you can tell this show was written/produced by people who made glee
everytime oliver says the words bisexual and bisexuality i feel like collapsing bc for YEARS he had to hint around buck's sexuality but now he gets to explicitly talk about buck and his bisexuality. i know he felt a weight lift off his chest too 😭
it's just very nasty work to assume that buck's bisexual storyline isn't coming from genuine intentions. oliver stark himself has always been supportive and has wanted it just as much as us, but could not talk about openly it bc he didn't know where the show was going.
oliver stark if u are roaming around the twitter verse just know majority of us loved the episode and saw a lot of ourselves in buck and it was a very well-made told episode and it's very important to many of us. ignore the bad reviews they're just miserable people
me everytime i remember bi buck is canon like obviously it's been hinted at and i've always seen him as bi but he's actually having a bisexual arc and he kissed a boy and liked it
ALRIGHT THIS IS GOOD WE'RE GOOD. abc listens to their audience, we're keeping the cast and crew, it's not gonna turn into greys or station 19 bc that's shondaland not abc itself, we're definitely getting buddie OKAY LETS KEEP COOKING
no guys something fucking shifted. why are they kind of making subtle hints towards buck not seeing what's in front of him. and why are they making EDDIE SAY IT. HELLO. HELLO.
no bc why is it such a problem for a character to explicitly state their sexuality??? enough of the queerbait and queercoding i want characters stating their sexuality bc being lgbt isn't a bad thing and their sexuality isn't bad
buddie has to be happening im sorry there's no other way... like when eddie thought he was gonna die in 3x15 so he put buck into his will, when he thought he was gonna die in 4x14 he told buck about the will, now what the fuck is he gonna say in 6x11
buck and eddie have such a special relationship like forgetting about the romantic aspect of it they genuinely have something so incredibly special and they understand each other on a level deeper than anyone else has understood them. That's fucking crazy
LIKE IM ACTUALLY SICK....... buck has to be canon bi before i blow the whole place up bc if i was an actor and had TWO missed opportunities of playing a queer man on screen. like Come on
2. He's very emotional and I personally see him experiencing rejection sensitivity dysphoria. Rsd is when we perceive something as rejection and we get really upset. It's completely out of our control and watching this show I feel like buck experiences rsd a lot
1. He's impulsive. Being impulsive is a huge adhd trait especially in boys. We tend to just go and do / say something without giving it a second thought or thinking about the consequences.
buddie is set up so well ... eddieana breakup, buck feeling lonely in his current relationship yet never feeling that way with the diaz boys, 5x04 having best friends go through a tragedy, eddie being in a hostage situation and buck being the only one there in future episodes
In conclusion; buck shows a LOT of adhd traits and I and many adhd / neurodivergent people relate to him. There's not many adhd characters I see on tv, so it'd be nice for buck having adhd to maybe be acknowledged!
#911onfox
Touching on the rsd thing, I want to add that when we feel rsd, it's very intense and we get into a negative headspace and often do dramatic things on impulse to feel included or like we are being heard, which could be tied into why buck was trying to sue; he felt rejected.
abc really loves 911 cause the promos even before we have any actual clips are so good and New everyday compared to what fox gave us. Like 911 is more back than ever before
so you're telling me that ostark's first tv role character was supposed to be gay. and that buck is heavily bicoded and he would be fine with buck being into men. Please give this man a gay role before he collapses and die i cant breathe 😭
need ravi to ask the team what's up with buck and eddie in an episode bc he notices they're Different together compared to how they are with everyone else
3. He's hyperactive. He cannot sit still. He's always bouncing or walking around, he's always fidgeting / stimming and messing with stuff. He talks really fast and when he gets excited he tends to get really hyper and moves around a lot.
hen is seriously one of the best characters ever. she's so kind and compassionate and tries her best to help people in any way she can and she never gives up and it's so admirable
Also touching on his emotions; he was rejected from becoming a navy seal because he "couldn't turn off his emotions." Adhd people are highly emotional because we experience emotions differently and at stronger amounts, which makes it very hard to "turn off" or change how we feel.
4. He has trouble with organization. He's often very disorganized and clumsy and just places things everywhere. However I think it's easier for him in the 118 where there's set structures, everyday routines, etc.
10. He gets hyper focused. When hes really interested in something or trying to figure out something, he gets so focused and often spends hours thinking about said thing or trying to figure whatever problem hes having out. Not really shown in the show but I can see him doing this
Well i was kind of joking in my original tweet, but also oliver stark said this and mentioned our conversation on instagram live when asked so, yeah, a big part of the love for nd buck, specifically adhd buck, does trace back to me 🤷
6. He's easily frustrated. He often gets in disagreements with Bobby and whenever he can't do something he wants to do; usually with doing something on a call.
7. He's a risk taker. He's often doing things that are dangerous and risky, especially on calls. He doesn't think before doing it which often gets him into trouble or in disagreements with Bobby. However, he usually ends up doing what he wants after persuading
i think i'm delusional but i swear there was coding for bisexual buck and buddie in that talk he had with bobby ... like "figuring yourself out" and looking at what your life is lacking or whatever Ummmmmn hey what do you mean by that bobby nash
8. I believe he'd have trouble focusing on a task. In the 118 I believe it's easier to focus on things, but outside of that I think he'd have trouble focusing on One task and instead would jump from one to the other.
9. He has a lower maturity level. It's often that people with adhd tend to be a little immature, however we are mature in maybe other ways people aren't or in ways people don't necessarily see often. We goof around a lot, but we're serious and focused when we need to be.
5. He has problem with time management sometimes. This isn't shown too much in the show but based on his impulsivity and inability to organize well, i believe he'd have a problem with time management and would be time blind. However like I said, being in the 118 helps with that.
Tbh tho is it kinda disappointing to see every character get development (even though eddie is gay why are they giving this man a gf) except buck like they always reduce buck to his relationships and will give him a new gf each season just to break them up & do it all over again
the way oliver kept saying the episode is gonna change the future of 9-1-1 and eddie just made buck chris's other legal guardian now what does THAT sound like to you .. yea yea buddie s5 is coming
it's not even just queer media in general that's held under a microscope it's sapphic and specifically lesbian media that's held to a much higher standard compared to other media and it's so fucking sickening
14. He's very selfless, sometimes to a point he forgets to take care of himself. This tends to happen to me a lot as well as other adhd people. We try so hard to make everyone else happy and to do good in the world, we forget to take a step back and look after ourselves.
13. Idk if this is shown much in the show but I feel like he definitely likes to be acknowledged that he's doing a good job and that people appreciate his efforts. ADHD brains tend to thrive on being praised as well as having a "reward" for something.
thinking about that ep as a series finale is funny bc it honestly was so underwhelming 😭 the disaster felt rushed and was literally cut off and madney, henren, bathena were awesome but buck and eddie's love lives on the other hand .... Doesn't even make sense at all
11. He has trouble with relationships, which is common for people with adhd. He's often confused on maybe what he wants and how to go in the relationship, as well as getting too invested fast, and to others he's seen as "too emotional" or "impulsive".
18. I think he also stims a lot! Hes constantly moving around, on his phone, messes with his hands, etc and thats very common in people with adhd and we do it to release energy, to cure boredom, as well as when we are anxious or very excited
12. He had a sex addiction. Though self diagnosed, it shows that its easy to get addicted to things, especially in adhd people. Hypersexuality is very common in people with adhd, and I believe this could be a reason for his "Buck 1.0 phase"
??????? chris falling asleep on the couch while eddie goes to the kitchen just like buck did that time and eddie having three s'mores representing three people whatever whatever WHATEVER WHAT FUCKING EVER
16. Adhd brains tend to get bored easily, which is why I think that's a reason buck jump around from job to job and constantly moving until he found something that interested him; firefighting
15. He jumps from topic to topic often, which is another sign of hyperactivity. When we have conversations, we often think about or remember something else and we Have to tell someone.
17. I think he's hyperfixated on random facts and learning about things bc we always see him on his phone searching for things out of curiosity as well as he knows a lot about random stuff; it's hard to explain in this thread but you can Google hyperfixation to learn more
ever other main character on 9-1-1 has their endgame already except buck and eddie but their lives are so intertwined and we've seen how they don't work in relationships with anyone else so if buddie doesn't happen they're still going to be better than any of their other ships
it's so fucking frustrating that anytime there's a mlm ship it's ALWAYS "why cant they just be friends their friendship is so healthy let's not ruin that" they're ALWAYS just friends. we have plenty of healthy male friendships on tv. why cant we see two men in relationships.
i'm gonna start watching 911 like in a middle aged man watching sports like a buddie scene will happen and i'll jump out of my seat with my hands on the back of my head going YOOOO NO WAY
the fact that people think buddie will be boring after they become canon is crazy like. their entire relationship dynamic will change. they'll have secret more intimate moments. they'd navigate the change in their relationship with laugher and smiles. come on
6x10 and 6x11 really are 4x13 and 4x14 for the buck girls (gender neutral) like i need to run around in circles a few times before i collapse and then remember the eps again and then repeat that 100 times
9-1-1 kinda really is good at storytelling like yes they have their not so good moments and parts we don't like but the main characters as characters are just so well written and their centered episodes are just so good like its excellent television
From a story point of view it doesn't even make sense that buddie isn't canon yet they have so many tropes and followed the exact moment of the other couples on the show & other shows yet they aren't together. Why. it's about time to realize they're it for each other
the fact that henren madney bathena michaeldavid and even hen's mother all have their endgames and they're still doing fuck all with buck and eddie and at this point the even general audience and people who didn't like buddie just want buddie already
