The ACERWC is participating in the African Court Coalition Stakeholdersā Platform at the margins of the 76th Ordinary Session of the African Court on Human and Peoplesā Rights in Arusha, Tanzania. The platform seeks to explore key issues vital to the African Courtās effectiveness, that is, access to the African Court for individuals and NGOs and Implementation of the Courtās decisions. In her intervention, Ms. Opal Sibanda, Researcher at the Secretariat, stresses on the need to amend Article 34.6 & Article 5.1 of the Courtās Protocol to enhance access for African citizens and the ACERWC Ms. Sibanda emphasized that if the African Human Rights System is to function effectively, it must operate as a complementary structure where specialized bodies like the ACERWC can be given direct access to the Court and fully engage with the Court. This will also go a long way in ensuring effective protection of the rights and welfare of children in Africa. #Agenda2040
