Heard a university administrator in an unspecified institution with an apparently untouchable global reputation speak of people whom he should have called "students" as "customers". The moral compass of higher education seems to have been abandoned.

@Cherrybeath @MikeyCycling Absolutely 100% agreement with this message. To add a quick line to it, such drivers are a danger to everyone else. Why @MikeyCycling hasn't been awarded something for services to humanity is one of those insoluble mysteries of life.

Totally wrong.
The Mental Capacity Act is the right place to start in terms of determining if a patient can make this decision. It's been tried and tested. It's used every day. Doctors are confident using it and it strikes the right balance - protecting both them and their patients. 4/7

Irony par excellence (or not?): I, a totally blind law student, have to read a chapter from a 1987 book which my university library only has a hard-copy of. That chapter cites prominently the work of Sir Rupert Cross, a blind British law professor in the previous century!
