He also introduced the notation |a⟩, known as the "ket" in quantum mechanics as part of his bra-ket formalism. This notation represents a quantum state vector in a Hilbert space. The ket |a⟩ can be thought of as a column vector in traditional linear algebra, where 'a' could denote any label or parameter describing the state. This formalism elegantly simplifies the mathematical representation of quantum states, operations, and measurements. For instance, the inner product of two states is written as ⟨b|a⟩, where ⟨b| is the "bra," the conjugate transpose of |b⟩. This notation has become fundamental in quantum mechanics, allowing for a clearer, more intuitive way to express quantum operations and states.

was good for some time, until something happened. Initially it was people who walked away from GameSpot, but now not sure who runs it. Something bad happened to gaming journalism since IGN and GameSpot bought by News Corporation and CNET.

@7etsuo Would boards like the FRDM-MCXN947 be a use-case? Or is it more for Jetsons and Raspberries?

@DonVeetz @critical_dawson @lauriewired yes more or less. unsafe is kind of C fallback. it disables the borrow-checker, allows raw pointer dereference, and access union fields - but that is all it does, and it's explicit.

@DonVeetz @critical_dawson @lauriewired there is proposal for 'Safe C++' by SG32 (Sean Baxter): but, and even if it gets implemented, it solves just a third of the issue described. it's too multi-paradigm for kernel and drivers.

The Cray-2, launched in 1985, was a groundbreaking supercomputer with Seymour Cray's first successful multi-CPU design. It used innovative 3D wiring for ECL circuits but faced significant heat issues, solved by a unique liquid cooling system. Despite its tech marvel, by 1989, it was outsold by the X-MP and Y-MP, leading Cray to part ways with Cray Research, echoing the fallout from the 1970s CDC 8600 project. It had 4 processors, each capable of delivering a theoretical peak performance of 1.9 GFLOPS, summing up to 7.6 GFLOPS when fully configured. It came equipped with 64 million 64-bit words of main memory (512 MB), making it the first machine with such a large memory capacity. The system operated at a clock speed of 244 MHz, and its unique architecture included a vector unit and a scalar unit per processor, all packed into an iconic cylindrical housing.

@critical_dawson @lauriewired the problem is, and we all know it, is that c++ allows the wrong kind of developers and patterns.
