Anyone who thinks per capita GDP is the driver of cleanliness should visit Cambodia. 1800 ish per capita GDP. Hard pressed to find a wrapper or plastic bag on the road let alone turds. India is too comfortable in filth and it has nothing to do with poverty.
2km morning walk in Sri Lanka. No spit on roads. You can barely see wrappers in corners. Area outside shops are clean. Street and roads are even. We are similar people with similar climate, similar geography, similar economic conditions but why is the public hygiene so different?

Please for the love of God. Read more fiction. The pervasive and relentless need to improve yourself every waking moment is driven by fear. Life has more than enough materials for you fear. But donโt you want to feel something else? To be inspired? To feel love? To take.
Saw this posted on LinkedIn as a leaderโs recommended reading list (or something along those lines). Once again I am begging of you, please read more fiction. I promise that it will do more for you vs another productivity optimization book.

Instead of asking for one generation of Indians who will work 70 hours a week, I challenge any notable person to demand one generation of Indian bureaucrats and government servants to not be corrupt. We will see an entirely different country in 15 years if this happens.
One way to understand Karnataka's preference for a 14-hour workday is to put it in the context of the central theme of the essay "Meditations on Moloch"โit is a race to the bottom of the spiral. With an unprecedented wave of incoming automation and no one anywhere close to being

In the placements of IIMB 1998, an IITD grad and merit lister was caught cheating on the entrance test for Reuters, a day 3 company. Hold that thought in your head as you read this. In that same placement season I got hired by DMG the brand new investment banking arm of DB and.

career pro tip ๐. The easiest way to career progress is to make your coworkers and managers feel 'relaxed' when they see you. Proactive communication is the cheat code to this. You don't need to develop a personality or anything absurd like that. Simply do what you said you'd.
a painful lesson ive learned about communicating is to communicate status proactively and immediately. even if i think "i'll just do the work soon, i'll give them the update with the work," NO, decouple decouple decouple. decouple communicating with actually doing the work.

The only reason men have nice homes is because their wives and mothers make it nice. When you stop taking this for granted and feel grateful for the feminine energy in your life is the day you become a good husband/son. The fact that your wife wants beautiful things, nice.
I found, setup, maintained a home in DLF phase 1 for 5 years. From 2018 to 2023, and one thing I learnt is that only women can make home, and homemaker is the most thankless job ever. (A thread).

Reportedly, pani-puri vendors are also getting GST notices based on RazorPay/Phonepe transactions, asking them to comply. If you are a small business owner running an informal set-up accepting payments on UPI apps then, please register under GST and comply. ๐

Story time (relevant to job seeking as a medium capability person). The year is 1998. Iโm graduating from IIMB. Iโm fourth from the bottom in the entire grade. I have a D in Investments. Which is pretty messed up if you wanted a career in finance. I had spent my summer.
I have been a teacher and mentor to many and I refuse to accept that for someone who buckets themselves as โmedium capabilityโ the best strategy is to โoptimise for what works for medium capability peopleโ instead of simply working towards becoming โhigh capableโ ๐คทโโ๏ธ.

Hereโs how you mate in a situation of oversupply (for straight men). 1. Get good at feeling things. GenZ and latter are fucked in this regard because yโall only love your phones. All your dopamine is being milked by social media leaving you unable to desire deeply. Get off that.
@poetofgrindset @uncommonnayana I'm too old to comment from current experience but as an observer:.1. humans are built to mate under conditions of undersupply. we are great at selecting, but terrible at filtering. 2. 'great at selecting under conditions of undersupply ' means we are built to compromise+adjust.

The punishment for corruption in China is execution. When the money for the people reaches the people, you get cities that work and freedom from fear (not claiming either of these about China, surely there are ). Freedom from fear is a prerequisite for ambitious, long-term.

This is the zone I call The Deep. Here the fear is not that you wonโt find a job but that youโll never want one. As the cortisol clears and the identity shifts, oneโs previous life seems like a question mark - how did I accept those conditions? How did I limit my possibilities
Once upon a time, there was a guy who worked for a big startup. Every month, he would get a nice fat salary. One day, he put down his papers without a backup job in mind. He wanted to take a step back. He wanted to know how it feels to live a life without an externally.

One of the best things you can do for your career is appear to work hard. The default path is hard work coded. As a leader, when you fail, the only question people will ask is - could you have done more? If the answer is no you might even get a free pass. But if the answer is.

This is why proof of work is going to be the only thing that counts. If you arenโt blogging and building an authentic digital presence (twitter counts too) then youโre going to have to go to the office for an interview. A strong digital presence makes interviews a formality.
Aaaaaaand this is why companies have more intense live coding interviews & technical tests these days. Further, some companies are slowly moving back to onsite interviews because theyโve been burned by cheating / fraudulent candidates.
