I think I've seen more negative discourse about the FF7 Rebirth minigames than any other aspect.

And for people thinking Max came up with the theory just because he “hates Aerith” (🙄) what you’re actually seeing is a normal fan thinking through possibilities.
He thought one thing, thought more, and realized how another theory connects to themes and character arcs.

Just for clarity, my opinion on the ending changed four times before landing on something I’m comfortable with. I disliked the ending in minute 5 just like Remake. But after a couple hours of investigation, I loved it.

That happened with Remake too. I watched it over and over again through 100s of eyes and new thoughts poured in each time.

I relate to this A LOT. He feels like playing FF7 less than 10x is low. I’ve only played it 3x… and only remember 2 of them well (‘97 & 2019).

This one from the Cave of the Gi was so damn good but it feels like I’m listening to it for the first time.

I like Colin, but let’s be real:
You can’t complain about games not being tailored to you when there is CHOICE to tailor your experience.
I wanted to do everything too, but at a certain point prioritized story for pacing.
Then I went back for post-game cleanup. It’s perfect.
I'm 75 hours into Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and it's amazing. Truly.
But there's a problem: It's way too long, a common problem with recent years' great AAAs, from RDR2 to TLoU2.
AAA games should be tailored experiences, not lifestyles choices. Leave the bloat to A/AA & GaaS.

Just watched a really interesting video just how often the "new" elements of FF7R have a lot of precedence in the OG and how it may ultimately add up to Sephiroth's endgame.

This is always what made me LOVE Cloud's story.
He was so hard on himself. He was comparing himself to societal standards. He didn't believe he was good enough.
Yet it was who he really was that made him special. Maybe a cheesy story, but told in the least cheesy way.
What makes me most sad about folks claiming Cloud is just Zack is that it misses one of the major points of the story. Zack is everything Cloud aspired to be and yet it was HIS OWN STRENGTH that made him powerful. Aspiring to textbook hero traits is often what impedes our power.

Vincent has so much more personality in On The Way To A Smile than any other FF7 media
(Actually, he had a decent portrayal in AC also. Maybe the only character who does in AC.)
Can’t wait to see more of this Vincent. This isn’t his biggest example, but this made me laugh.

The performances are incredible and this may be the best cinematic storytelling in the franchise.
There are lots of cutscenes to start, but they’re fairly efficient. Their frequency is the only thing that makes pacing feel slightly slow given the constant interruptions, but 🤷🏻♂️

I beat FF7 Rebirth.
Much like with Remake, going to have to rewatch the ending a few times, that’s for sure.
Saving any major thoughts and feelings until more people - including friends on here - beat it.

These devs are trying to build a whole new story after wrapping up a 10-year story arc. Even if this is a contained story for the patches, it's good. People need to be patient 🤷♂️
