I love nursing bc I love critical thinking. Pt’s potassium is too high? Fear not - we shift it w calcium & D50 & insulin. DKA? Insulin to correct acidosis, isotonic fluids, & electrolytes. MD enters incorrect medication/ dose order? We run dat back & say “sir are u sure” 🤣

Tb to the time I was assessing a pt in severe etoh withdrawal, came out of the room and told my colleague we needed to get a line in him ASAP before he seized. As soon as we get the IV in, doesn’t my man start seizing. Nursing judgment is just crazy to me 🤟🏽
