A thread of some awful houses out there on Rightmove starting with this west end tenement flat that for some reason has a suspended tile ceiling fit for an office... (HRV £135k)

@MurphyNiallGLA @PaulJSweeney @LostGlasgow @PastGlasgow @AaronBastani @GlasgowHeritage @newglasgowsoc @SAVEtoReuse @is_glasgow @SGHETorg @theAHSS Agreed! Just had a look at the old plans and it's disappointing that the angled windows facade treatment to prevent overlooking wasn't supported. Although in whatever form, I'm looking forward to meeting my new neighbours once this building is complete

@Hyperoptic Hi, we're having trouble with our internet speeds - we pay for a 1gb package and our internet has been cutting out/struggling to get above 50mb. This has been ongoing for over a week, some help would be appreciated.

This subway bench re-uses a wrought iron gate to make the brackets and legs - excellent! @robbiesmith4772

@_mattmccallum I used an old wrought iron gate repurposed and repainted to make the frames. I've kept two and given one as a wedding present

@PaulJSweeney @GlasgowHeritage @MurphyNiallGLA @MrAbercrombie @LostGlasgow @PastGlasgow Absolutely, filling in the missing teeth and reintroducing scale on these arterial routes are key for identity and placemaking. To borrow @RoryOlcayto 's thread, every one of these neighbourhoods will have these opportunities

Thread: Unlike most British cities there’s solid, high quality Victorian architecture still intact at the heart of Glasgow’s working class districts. So much has been lost but what remains is pretty damn good. Imagine everything pictured here carefully added to. ✨1. Possilpark

@PastGlasgow @PaulJSweeney @GlasgowHeritage @MurphyNiallGLA @MrAbercrombie @LostGlasgow That's the question I don't have the answer to or the power to answer unfortunately, there needs to be an incentive/increased policy requirement for developers otherwise they will go for the lowest cost/lowest risk option

@PaulJSweeney @GlasgowHeritage @MurphyNiallGLA @MrAbercrombie @LostGlasgow @PastGlasgow An example of a roof top extension in Glasgow: shows that it can be done in principle. Reinstating up to 4 or 5 storeys should be considered less onerous. Perhaps there's a way that developments like these can be incentivised.

@PaulJSweeney @GlasgowHeritage @MurphyNiallGLA @MrAbercrombie @LostGlasgow @PastGlasgow The difficulty is finding the developer/building owner/client that shares this sentiment and values retaining the existing. The way things are now, when it comes to viability, it will likely be less risk and more profitable for them to demolish and start afresh.

Rental incomes can provide a revenue stream for the council etc. We're keeping an eye on public tenders etc but if we can assist in any other ways/knowledge share, do let me know
