Male characters can do the worst shit like they'll neglect their wife and commit homicide and yall still be like I LOVE HIM MY UWU MY PWECIOUS CINNAMON WOLL and then a female character raises her voice n she's an annoying bitch like this will forever drive me mad
People always be like I'm so tired of seeing all these masc lesbians in media like... where? What plane of existence are you on where there's a plethora of masc lesbians in media cause I wanna be there
My least favorite "trope" if you can call it that, is when there's a very lesbian coded character and then suddenly the "right guy" comes along and she falls in love with him when she should've just been lesbian AHHH
I see this all the time in shoujo/dramas lol
Since sailor moons been going around...shout-out to masahiro ando, one of my favorite directors on the 90s sailor moon anime
A lot of people hate his style but I can’t be the only one who doesn’t
Wish animation in the US wasn’t limited to just adult/kids comedy...like It’d be really cool to have a romance or slice of life animated series...and there are HUUGE markets for it man...
i wish there were more black and brown women in yuri (if anyone has recs that would be awesome), and i wish there was more of a variety in gender expression and identity! in a lot of old GL i’ve been able to find very traditionally butch women but not so much in modern yuri
Artists with small followings, you aren’t a nobody!!! I know it feels that way bc social media (esp Twitter) makes you believe ur self worth is equal to your follower count... u have plenty of people who adore your work and you are somebody to them
The thin linework def contributes to the weightless feeling but I'm more so talking about the drawing/animation itself, like there's so much more personality and emotion in the original
If you haven't read this already GO READ IT NOW! It's one of my favorite webtoons of all time. The art is stunning and the characters and story are beautifully written. Its an absolutely fantastic read!!!
It’s really important to not rob space that belongs to black artists, for example, like trying to participate in blacktober when you can just support participating black artists instead by rting/liking/commenting
