@LowProfile2021 @JakeBenRichards Surely that's what committee stage is for? The vote on 29th is a vote to allow the bill to be discussed further. It doesn't pass it into law.

@teaforpterosaur Have we had any analysis on costs? Because it's interesting really, some anti AD people claim it would cost loads of money and other anti AD people claim people would be killed by the state to save money.

Humanists UK is correct. Second Reading is to debate the principles of the Bill. If you support the principle of AD but think the Bill can be better, that's why you seek to amend it at committee stage. That's how parliamentary procedure works.
We recognise that some MPs may be nervous about such a significant piece of legislation coming before them so early in their terms. But we hope that they will realise that, if they support assisted dying in principle but are concerned about the practicalities, they should vote in favour of it at second reading.

The media are so used to having something to criticise Prime Ministers over and we now have one who is incredibly decent and honourable, and so all they can say about him is that he's working too hard to improve Britain's standing on the world stage.
Off on another foreign trip, PM? Isn’t it time to come home… and stay put? Me for @indypremium
