The recent positive tests of Baffert & Assmussen are a call to arms in horse racing, not so much to clean it up because that cannot happen. But a call , a message loud and clear to the honest trainer that you are simply filling the races for these guys .

Always some trepidation & uncertainty when a horse like Hammerinn Aamer goes from a hot trainer to a guy like me . Bear in mind that I was winning Grade 1 & Grade 2 stake races when these guys were chasing cheerleaders. I don’t miss too many tricks.

My boy Vespucci has returned from the farm & returned from Fair Hill & watchful eye of Bruce Jackson . I haven’t had a horse with this level of talent since Big Brown. Thanks to owners Foss , Moirano ,Wecker & San Martino for sending him back . I know what to do with a good one

Couldn’t get lucky & catch one scratch to draw into Aqueduct Turf Sprint . No alternative race here as the turf season closes tomorrow even tho it is in good shape & the weather is fine. They are preserving it for Belmont at Aqueduct 2027.

Not so sure I understand the need for a Saratoga meet this year especially with the current spike in cases in Albany. Trainers are just beginning to recover financially & now must uproot their help ( if they can find) & forego the expense. Got to break the backs of owners too .

Was walking to the training track at Spa with R.Frankel .He gave one set of instructions to his exercise rider , then amended them & when we got to the gap he changed his mind again . I wondered if this great trainer knew what he was doing . Next day that horse won by seven.
