Investigation Journalist that would put the FBI to shame
Since some people have begun to circulate that the Navyug tunnel tube had been closed for smooth movement of the Chief Minister's cavalcade, let it be clear from my side that I spoke to the officers in CM's cavalcade who told me that their cavalcade itself got stuck for 20 minutes on the Qazigund side of the highway when it was on way from Jammu to Srinagar earlier today. The rest of the clarification must come from the authorities. I am convinced that the tunnel tube had not been closed for the CM's cavalcade. It may be for some other VVIP movement.

A Decent journalist would name the VVIP
Due to heavy snowfall in the evening and closure of one tube of the tunnel for VVIP movement for several hours in the afternoon, 1000s of vehicles and commuters are currently stranded between Banihal and Qazigund, many of them inside the 10-km long Navyug Tunnel, on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. Drivers say nobody from the authorities seems to be clearing the traffic as just one JCB snow clearance machine has now reached the spot. DCs of Anantnag and Kulgam are telling me that rescue and clearance teams have rushed to the spot. DC Anantnag is currently holding a high level meeting of all concerned departments as efforts are being made to evacuate the stranded commuters from the tunnel.

So it was your VIP movement that caused the disruption in the traffic on the national highway.
I drove from Jammu to Srinagar today. It snowed continuously from Banihal to Srinagar. The conditions were quite treacherous. I understand there are around 2000 vehicles stuck between the tunnel & Qazigund. My office has been in touch with the administration in South Kashmir. While snow clearance has been done the road is very icy. Heavy vehicles are being allowed to move & efforts are on to clear the rest of the stranded vehicles.
