@edrob0 Yes that’s right. Turnovers was higher than usual because of index trading, which has no comms (just the spread).

@ddtraderr I’ve traded the Nasdaq through FPM, but not individual US shares. It’s probably possible but I’ve only done that through other brokers.

@James2464 I liked LTR’s quarterly report and bought pretty heavily in the match, just didn’t follow through unfortunately.

@giantpaperclip5 Nah just watched this one unfortunately, gapped too much for me and the match was average.

@Harry43457443 Just think the market seems toppy, particularly the US. Keeps bouncing back for now though.

My worst trade was an Nvidia short which resulted in a $27k loss, but could have been a lot worse. I shorted this on day 2 after the DeepSeek news. This worked well initially but then Nvidia bounced from 116 to 129 while I just watched all night. Lack of sleep = poor discipline. I was lucky to close this for a relatively small loss the next day at 123. (3/3)

@dampwer Most recent example was MSB on 19 December (FDA approval). MSB share price was 198 before the news and now sits at 317, a 60% move. On the day of the news it did almost 30% intraday from open to close.

Starting capital isn't too relevant because my trading capital fluctuated significantly through the year with frequent deposits/withdrawals. My o/n exposure ranged from nil to ~$5m. Financing cost for the year was ~$110k which implies an average overnight exposure of ~$1.7m. On average I probably had capital deployed of maybe ~$500k, with a maximum of ~$1m.

@dampwer I'm generally looking for significant catalysts which the market doesn't price correctly at first, which can be for various reasons.

@3rdavatar Hey, in addition to trading through Cygnet I trade CFDs through 26 Degrees and FP Markets, using Viewpoint and Mottai as the trading software. For announcements, order book, chartig etc I primarily use Spark and Tradingview.
