trailer was average for me. The visuals looked simply EPIC and so did the dystopian setting of the film. But something still felt missing. Didn't satisfy me the way I thought it would. Maybe because I had too many expectations.

And this is exactly why Malayalam movies have been successful (at least recently).
No item dances, no 18+ content and no romance until it’s absolutely necessary.
Some Tamil movies (like the very recent Por) have two or three heroines who just exist to “please” the main leads.
For your information :-
- they aren't some stupid tier-1 TAMIL movies where the heroine is unnecessarily cast for the hero's stupid love track
- manjummelboys was a real life story about a group of male friends
- there's no need to cast a heroine unless the script calls for it
