Our aim is to help universities in Gaza resume their activities. We're setting up a worldwide team of university professors, in all subjects, ready to teach Gazan students online. We just started teaching this week!
Many Gazan students have to withdraw from our online courses "since they can't guarantee they will be alive by the end of the semester".
(Received from our partner An-Najah University)
1/ We need profs in all subjects ; 2/ We will soon set up a system of TAs; graduate students are hence welcome to write, too; 3/ We also need translators Arabic/ English; 4/ We're setting up a Language Lab, with English writing courses on top of the list. Thanks again 🙏
Update: for the upcoming June session,we need profs in dentistry/ midwifery/veterinary health/ some courses in law /interior design. Please spread the word if you know anyone able to teach courses in these subjects. Thanks a million!
See Thread below
Here's the setup: We work in tandem with An-Najah university

in the West Bank, and their TESI initiative. An-Najah enrolls the Gazan students, sets up the virtual classrooms, and acts as the umbrella for the whole online teaching project.
Huge thanks to the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Lahore, Pakistan, whose board, faculty and alumni have responded massively and enthusiastically
@LifeAtLUMS
So grateful for the overwhelming response by email! We will reply to each as soon as possible. Apologies for the possible delay; but do keep checking your inbox :-)
We are in charge of all external volunteer professors. The credits acquired are validated in the students' own university in Gaza. All courses are designed in intensive 8-week sessions. The first one started mid-April, the next one will be late June, then September, etc.
We reply to every query, but there are so many of you cool volunteers 😁 that we don’t reply quite as fast as we would like to. Thank you for your patience. A quick reminder; if you want to enrol in the volunteer prof program, email us (mail in bio). All subjects welcome!
Project launched! 💥 In the past week, a dozen of our profs started teaching online. The subjects range from Calculus 1 to Electrical Engineering, French Writing and Introduction to Python. Approx. 250 Gazan students are enrolled in their classes.
The remaining 60% are in constant danger, live in shelters, and have to walk long distances to access internet.
And yet their education remained a priority, and they enrolled in the An-Najah online courses.
Hats off.
10% are outside Gaza, safe, and with regular internet access.
10% are displaced in Gaza, relatively safe, and with partial access to internet.
20% live in tents, are in danger, and able to access internet only every few days.
In Ukraine, as per Unesco, the Russian army has destroyed 21% of universities. In Gaza, the IDF has destroyed 100% of universities. But there's no "double standard" on Israel, says Blinken.
Right.
