GOVERNOR MUTFWANG JOINS PDP GOVERNORS' FORUM MEETING IN ASABA, ASSURES NIGERIANS OF IMPROVED COST OF LIVING As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and tackle its current challenges, Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, participated in the PDP Governors' Forum meeting in Asaba, Delta State. The meeting, led by the Forum Chairman and Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, served as a platform for discussing developmental initiatives in PDP-led states and evaluating both national and party matters as 2024 came to a close. In a statement issued after the meeting, the Forum commended PDP Governors for implementing people-focused policies designed to ease hardships and lay the groundwork for long-term development in their states. The Forum also expressed concern about the Federal Government’s macroeconomic policies, which it believes have worsened economic hardship across the nation. The Governors called on the Federal Government to urgently revisit and reform these policies to alleviate their negative impact on Nigerians. The Forum welcomed the ongoing efforts to resolve the dispute within the National Working Committee (NWC) over the position of National Secretary. It reaffirmed its support for the Court of Appeal ruling on the matter and urged the NWC to implement the judgment promptly. Following a review of the necessary legal requirements, the Forum recommended rescheduling the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting to March 13, 2025. The Forum also praised the country’s Armed Forces and security agencies for their dedicated efforts in combating banditry and insurgency but raised concerns about the resurgence of non-state actors involved in violence. It called for enhanced security measures to decisively tackle these threats. The Forum expressed appreciation to the host Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the people of Delta State for their warm hospitality and for organizing a successful and productive meeting. It also commended Governor Oborevwori for his remarkable achievements in infrastructure, environmental sustainability, empowerment programs, and security. Plateau State Equity Health is a comprehensive health insurance program designed to ease the financial burden of healthcare for residents. This initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring that healthcare is not a privilege but a fundamental right. The Governor of Plateau state Barr.Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has launched the Nigeria Solar for Health Project (NISHP) to provide solar power to over 25 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the state's 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs). The project, supported by the European Union (EU), aims to improve healthcare service delivery, particularly in rural communities, by ensuring a reliable power supply for PHCs. The NISHP will provide solar power to PHCs, addressing power shortages that affect healthcare services, such as operating diagnostic machines, storing vaccines, and preserving medicines. Governor Mutfwang highlighted the state's dedication to improving PHC functionality. When his administration took office, less than 5% of over 1,000 PHCs were operational. The Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning has officially launched the Human Capital Opportunity, Prosperity, and Equity (HOPE) project.
