A rage episode. A rant episode. Call it whatever you want but I’m a broken man after the loss to BAL.
I think it might be time to clean house — Jake attempts to talk me down

It’s pretty cool as a Bengals fan to have reached the point where a loss to the
#1
seed in the AFC Championship Game is disappointing.
A few years ago that would have felt like a pipe dream
Elly De La Cruz has played 29 games so far this season.
His 162 game pace, with ranking compared to 2022 league leaders:
🔺223 hits (1st)
🔺50 doubles (1st)
🔺11 triples (1st)
🔺89 stolen bases (1st)
An absolute freak 👽

Predict your corny Tony Romo New Years Eve call for Bengals - Chiefs.
*player drops a pass*
Romo: “Ehhhhuuuhhh I don’t know, Jim… I think, uh, the ball drop isn’t supposed to be til midnight… he’s a liiiiitle early with that one Jim”
Confession time:
I have no idea what is said right before the stadium breaks out The Who Dey chant.
“Cin-cinn-ati, Cin-cinn-ati…” then I usually just mumble the next part before screaming “Who Dey, Who Dey, Who Dey think gonna beat them Bengals”
Man,
@theStevenRuiz
continues to outdo himself week after week. Constantly moving the goalposts on Burrow and the Bengals.
I’ve never in my life heard an “analyst” be so stuck in take lock and bias that you can’t accept that Burrow is better than your favorite QB
Joe Burrow is 4-0 over the last two seasons in games where the temperature is <32 degrees
Josh Allen is 8-0 over the last two seasons in games where the temperature is <32 degrees
There are currently 5 teams in the NFL that are in the top-10 in both scoring offense and defense:
1) Bills
2) Bucs
3) Cardinals
4) Rams
5) Bengals
This team currently sits among the elite tier of teams 7 weeks into the season
#RuleTheJungle
Sun/Mon: this is awful. Wow look at all these stats showing how bad it was.
Tues: this team isn't fit to beat the Chiefs.
Weds: the Bengals have what it takes to stick with KC
Thurs: we can beat them
Fri/Sat: we’re winning this game
Sun: I’m going to throw up
The

offensive coordinator Brian Callahan as their head coach, per sources.
Callahan had a second interview today and Tennessee isn’t letting him out of the building.
Trey Hendrickson had 7 total pressures and 2 sacks against KC.
It was his 2nd most pressures in a game this season, and his first 2-sack game since Week 8 against NYJ.
Big time players make big time plays in big time moments 😤
Hey everyone -
For the past week, my 3 year old son Griffin has been in the ICU with unexplained seizures. We’ve had lots of answered prayers (the breathing tube was finally removed) but also plenty of discouraging moments.
In this moment, my family covets your prayers
49.9% of the Bengals fanbase:
“FIRE ZAC TAYLOR, TRADE TEE HIGGINS, BURN IT ALL DOWN!!!”
49.9% of the Bengals fanbase:
“Guys, these players are doing their best! Maybe if we all sing kumbaya in unison at the next home game it’ll help!”
0.2% of the Bengals fanbase:
“😐”
The Bengals are 1 of 3 teams yet to surrender a touchdown in the second half.
QBs are completing just 50.9% of their passes against the Bengals second-half D, good for fourth lowest in the NFL.
In his last 4 games, Jalen Ramsey has allowed:
🔹 17 receptions, 388 yards, 4 TDs
In his last 4 games, Eli Apple has allowed:
🔸17 receptions, 174 yards, 4 TDs
I’m certainly biased but I think the Bengals have a ton of primetime-worthy games this season:
- Bills (best two teams in the AFC)
- Chiefs (rematch AFCCG)
- Cowboys (they’re always on primetime anyways)
- Saints (Bayou Boys return)
- Bucs (Brady passes the torch)
Bengals call a press conference.
Fans wait nervously to hear the severity of the injury.
The team proceeds to announce his extension to the jubilee of fans.
At the end of the press conference, Burrow confirms he’ll be back in a week.
End scene.
Perhaps an even crazier stat:
Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are two of only 14 players to ever record at least 2,000 receiving yards before the age of 23.
Two. Of 14. In the history of the NFL.
And both play on the same team.
Vikings WR Justin Jefferson, who turns 24 today, had the most receptions (324) and receiving yards (4,825) before turning 24 in NFL history, per the great
@EpKap
.
I say we wait and see what he does before turning 25 -- and then decide whether to get excited about his career. 😉
I am not saying this to diminish Mahomes' greatness.
But imagine playing the hapless Raiders, Broncos and Chargers 2x per year.
Since 2020, the winning percentage of AFCW rivals:
LAC .463
Raiders .478
Broncos .373
The AFCN over that same span:
BAL .627
PIT .604
CLE .552
The thing I’m most disappointed in today is the lack of ANY adjustments from Zac Taylor / Brian Callahan.
You have a backup QB and didn’t try anything creative, didn’t try to get Brown/Jones/Yoshi involved.
Just content doing the same thing over and over.
Joe Burrow vs MIN Week 1:
- 20/27, 261 yards, 2 TDs
Baker Mayfield vs MIN Week 4:
- 15/33, 155 yards, 0 TDs
One of these guys was playing his first game in 10 months coming off a major injury. The other is just bad

Alright
#Bengals
fans, drop your favorite plays from the 2022 REGULAR SEASON 🐅
I’ll start: 3rd & 27.
An aggressive play call. Your playmakers making plays. Setting up a division-clinching victory against the Chiefs 👨🏻🍳 😘
37 points scored against the Steelers defense…
on the road…
without Ja’Marr Chase…
without Joe Mixon…
having thrown two interceptions…
This offense 😮💨
When operating with a clean pocket in 2021, Joe Burrow ranked:
🔸1st in PFF Grade (95.9)
🔸1st in YPA (9.0)
🔸3rd in Adjusted Completion % (82%)
🔸3rd in Passer Rating (113.7)
🔸5th in Big Time Throw % (5.8%)
🔸7th in Passing TDs (25)
🔸7th lowest Turnover Worthy Play % (1.5%)
2021, through 5 games:
🔸3-2 record
🔸22.8 P/G
🔸18 PA/G
2022, through 5 games:
🔸2-3 record
🔸21.6 P/G
🔸17.8 PA/G
We know how 2021 went as the season progressed. Take a deep breath
Spotrac has Tee Higgins’ market value at $16.4M. 🤨
For reference, some other valuations:
- Mike Evans: $23.5M
- Michael Pittman: $22.6M
- Calvin Ridley: $17M
I’d be extremely surprised if a 25 year old WR with his profile and a couple 1000 yd seasons doesn’t get $24M per
The Bengals missed some opportunities, certainly. But in a close game where every single thing matters, it shouldn’t be the refs swinging things drastically one direction or the other. And that’s what happened tonight imo
Defense gives up 544. Five hundred. Forty four.
Couldn’t stop the run.
Couldn’t stop the pass.
Couldn’t get to the QB.
Couldn’t tackle.
Pathetic performance
Over the last 37(!!!) weeks of NFL football, just TWO wide receivers have had 10+ first downs in a game:
🔸Tee Higgins, 2021 Week 16 vs KC (12)
🔸Ja’Marr Chase, 2022 Week 1 vs PIT (10)
Well one annoying trend amongst Bengals fans:
Acting like being less interested in the remaining games sans Burrow makes you less of a fan.
I’m still rooting for the team. Still like to see them do well. Still wearing Bengals gear.
It’s ok to admit it’s not the same w/o 9
Mahomes: "Let us play the game. Then whatever happens happens. That's why last week, I didn't say anything. Let us play. You want it to be about your team and their team -- and see what happens. I want to go play... then see what happens at the end. Then, I can live with the
Justin Blackmon saw 132 targets as a rookie, then started his 2nd season averaging 12 targets, 7 catches, 104 yards in the first 4 games before being suspended.
He never played another game.
Over the last two seasons, the Bengals are 23-3 (.885 winning percentage) when allowing 3 or fewer sacks.
In those games:
🔸offense averages 29 ppg
🔸average margin of victory is 11 points
🔸the rest of the NFL has a .548 winning percentage in those instances
Some context on the Burrow INTs today:
1) weather was not ideal
2) it’s possible you take some risks in practice that you wouldn’t in a game
I’m 0/10 concerned at this point.
Per Elizabeth Blackburn speaking at the Cincinnati Regional Chamber monthly briefing, the Bengals were the only team to rank top-5 in all gameday satisfaction categories. Truly impressive
Maybe I’m a softy but I found the booing of Larry Ogunjobi rather unnecessary.
He played out his contract with us. Played well. And signed with another team as a free agent. We likely weren’t going to resign him anyways
