Imagine walking into a showroom along Kiambu Road. You're shown various cars, find one you like, and confirm the price is within your budget. After starting the engine and inspecting the vehicle for any visible defects, you sign the contract and drive away with your car. The next day, the car stalls on the road. When you contact the showroom, they refer you to a clause in the contract stating that you inspected and tested the car before buying it. To make matters worse, a mechanic later informs you that the car had been involved in an accident, a fact that was never disclosed. This is the situation my client is currently facing. Once again, it's an opportunity for us to put the law to test.

On the issue of the removal of the vetting process for Kenyan Somalis applying for IDs and Passports; I would say as follows; 1. The vetting process was originally designed to protect against the infiltration of foreigners, ensuring that deserving Kenyan citizens were differentiated from foreigners. However, over time, it has been misused, leading to significant injustices, especially for Kenyan Somalis. 2. The process has become a tool of abuse, where wealthy foreigners can bypass the system and obtain Kenyan citizenship and documents far more quicker than any Kenyan Somali. 3. Kenyan Somalis face excessive delays when applying for IDs and passports, sometimes waiting for years. These delays have far-reaching consequences, such as students losing vital educational opportunities, thus fueling calls for the process to be removed. 4. The vetting process is a blanket approach that disproportionately affects an entire community, much like carpet-bombing a region to eliminate a few bad actors. 5. I believe we can facilitate easier access to documents for all border communities while effectively filtering out foreigners. The balance is achievable. Let's stop the scaremongering
