1964, it was the conclusion of the Rivonia trial. Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu, Govan Mbeki, Ahmed Kathrada and other co-accused were sentenced to life imprisonment in the Pretoria Supreme Court.
‘Soft’ approaches to peacebuilding are also as critical as ‘hard’ approaches, meaning that a larger focus must be placed on dialogue and youth inclusion in politics, peace and security.
