@Kiwyko
BetterDiscord has not leaked user tokens multiple times. Token leaks only ever happen from malicious plugins not found on our website. The most recent time their was a real user token attack was a malicious plugin for a client mod called Powercord. And that was over a year ago.
Discord just pushed out a massive rework of all their internals. Expect all themes and pretty much all plugins and even BD itself to break.
Updates for BD will happen as soon as I have time. Plugin and theme updates will be dependent on the individual developers.
We are aware of an issue with BetterDiscord crashing/not loading correctly. This was cause by some internal changes by Discord. I am away from home but the other devs are drafting an updated release to fix the issue right now!
A new version of BetterDiscord has been released (v1.9.5), this update should fix some important pieces required for plugins and themes. You should be able to update through the in-app updater. You may even find that some plugins will start to work again.
@PussyChimp
Unless you're out there flaunting it on official servers in front of devs you're unlikely to have any issues. Also stick to plugins on our website. We review them to make sure account risk is minimal to none!
@itsnebulalol
With OpenAsar I had different issues with crashes and native modules like voice/video not working as expected. I've already talked with Ducko (developer of OpenAsar) about it and they are constantly working to improve it!
BandagedBD v0.2.23 was pushed, feel free to reload and check it out! You should even be greeted with a changelog explaining what's new when it loads. 😎

Now that this fix is out, it will take time for developers to fix their plugins and themes so please continue to be patient while they work on updating their addons.
@ActualMamaLuigi
There are some mods already for mobile clients. It's unlikely that BetterDiscord will come to mobile anytime soon unless our developer team expands.
For anyone involved in this test, the UI may look mostly the same but underneath it has been completely rewritten! So please let me know if things feel faster or snappier. And of course inform me of bugs too!
@Salt_Salad_
It does but Canary updates very frequently which means you will have to reinject BetterDiscord more often. It's also more prone to breaking.

If you're a plugin or theme developer or looking to get started, definitely check out the updated docs:

Not right away, but we do plan to get there eventually!
One of the side effects of being around so long is having to maintain backwards compatibility while still progressing forward. It's an important balance to strike. So things like a browser version will come in increments.

We're not marketers, just developers. We don't really have anything to gain from this. The developers of all the client mods know each other and are on good terms for the most part.
@ArgonIsAGas
Currently you can only customize themes by modifying them yourself or overriding any variables they may use. This is a long-time requested feature by many many users, especially those who prefer proper UI to editing code.

We don't make money from recreating paid Discord features. Not sure where that notion comes from. We had themes for years before Discord and we don't charge anything to users.
@AltImperius
There's already been 4 updates this year & there were 17 last year. That announced update came as v1.9.0 where I completely rewrote how our UI works which improved performance by a significant amount for many users.
BetterDiscord is mostly developed by a single guy:

We are working on a total rework of our API but it will take time. We are unfortunately still working with backwards compatibility of some very old code and APIs so it can be difficult to make the change. There are community driven typings for TypeScript. We also have new docs!
