Dad is gone.
I always thought this man to be my giant, no matter what was happening I was safe because I had him. He took me on bike adventures, we'd sneak out for ice cream, we'd both yell at the TV during hockey games and drive my mother crazy. I miss him so much already. 💔

Up way too early this morning, excited for an interview I have tomorrow for a job where I would get to work with sloths, otters, wallabies, stingrays, a huge variety of wild birds, and so much more!!! This would be my dream job!

Housemate's boyfriend is over, I'm watching a comedian on YouTube. Got up to check the kittens and when I came back, he had turned it off because 'she wasn't funny' then left the room. He wasn't watching TV at all, had no intention of watching it. Why did he turn it off then???

I had another interview today and I got the job! It's perfect for me, way better than yesterday's interview and they don't care what I look like!! I'm so excited! Thank you to everyone - you all were supportive before and after yesterday's interview, meant so much to me

Dad's coming home this weekend to spend what time he has left surrounded by family and friends. He's got a palliative care team and they are amazing people. He's comfortable and cognitive. I fly back home Thursday and hope I can see him again soon.

I genuinely think this was the last time I ever felt like I was pretty. Found these old pictures while transferring photos to a new phone. I don't even remember looking like this ever. This was only 4 years ago. Depression is just so shitty.

Dad's home where he belongs (mum is thrilled!!). He's set up comfortably and medicated, he's lucid, talking with us, eating a little bit. We don't know how much time we have left but he's home, surrounded by family. That's good enough for me. Thank you all for your kindness 💖

Mourn it as you would any other death. Take the time to process it, to allow your heart and mind to realize it's no longer a part of you. Losing a job is not a simple matter, especially if it was something you loved doing. Take time to mourn it, it's okay to do so.

Thank you to everyone who wished me luck, so very appreciated ❤️. They offered the position but I'm on the fence about it as they are very conservative (no tattoos, no facial piercings, no colored hair). I would have to really change myself to work there.

-sister calling back, actually was worse, get on a plane ASAP
-dad ok-ish, can't walk but handling wheelchair great
-that night, massive heart attack, come day goodbye

Never did like the taste of beer but this was my father's favorite. Silly as it sounds, one of my favorite childhood memories is walking with him to pick up a case every month. Walking, talking, just the two of us. Getting a candy bar, splitting it on the way home. Miss him ❤️🩹

Thanks to all for their amazingly kind words recently. Made me feel I wasn't alone in this. Dad is home (hospice) with mum. my older sister who lives with them, my other sister (a nurse) took weeks off to help with care. I'm back home but able to video chat daily with him
