In a heartbreaking scenario, I conducted in- person counselling sessions this last Thursday for a 14 year old Chinhoyi girl who became well-known on social media for insulting her mother, who was attempting to bring her back home. The girl was impregnated by a married gold panner, Munyaradzi Musarurwa, who is currently wanted by the police. I sought out the child to hear her side of story and provide her with the appropriate counselling. I made the young girl apologise to her mother and all mothers in Zimbabwe and make the correct decision to return to school after giving birth.

As the patron for the environment and wildlife, this week I took a tree planting initiative to Mashonaland West and Mashonaland East provinces. From the start of the rainy season in December until the end of April, Zimbabweans plant trees. Iโm glad to report that I oversaw the planting of over 2000 trees in Mashonaland West and over 3000 trees in Mashonaland East. These trees included gum trees and some native trees that the locals and traditional authorities deemed to be good for the environment and people's health. People in these provinces were left with a lasting image of love and environmental care.

Believers are required to uphold the integrity of God's word and adhere to its precepts. I'm pleased of my upbringing and religious foundation, this last Friday I was able to visit the church where I grew up, Johane Masowe eChishanu Chinhevere Shrine in Chiweshe, to meet some of the old and new members and spread the gospel to fellow believers. In an effort to strengthen my ties to my community and the spiritual leaders in my hometown of Chiweshe, I had been routinely attending services at Johanne Masowe eChishanu. I shared the special times I had when I first started praying at the tender age and my dedication to the church that helped shape my morals.

To commemorate the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims and promote road safety ahead of the holiday season, I was joined by Ambassadors from Embassies of Malawi, Kenya, Angola, Indonesia, Ghana, Rwanda, Sudan, Nicaragua, Russia, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Palestine, South Korea, and Botswana in a 5km walkathon to the Marondera Tollgate this week. The event was oversubscribed and included government officials and the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ). The day emphasizes the impact on families and communities worldwide, as well as the general scope and personal destruction brought about by traffic fatalities and injuries.

As part of my mission to improve the lives of many people, particularly the most vulnerable members of our society, this Monday I bid farewell at Robert Gabriel Mugabe Airport to the rescued children from Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa Children's Home in Chiredzi, who have left for St. Petersburg, Russia to broaden their horizons and explore the world. In order to promote global connections and create lifelong memories, I organized and funded these ten kids' involvement in a variety of sports and culturally stimulating activities in Russia.

Iโm glad to share that, today Huawei Officials and I, held a send-off ceremony at my Harare offices for the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) students from various universities in the country who will gain from my collaboration with Huawei. They will be starting an amazing journey to improve their skills at the Leap Digital Study Camp in Shenzhen, China. Additionally, 30 students from the countryโs colleges benefited from the same partnership in 2022 when they were given the chance to show their abilities through the Huawei Seeds for the Future initiative.

Alongside 14 other First Ladies, health experts, and academia, I attended the 11th edition of Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary 2024. Officially opened by Tanzanian President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, the event provides a platform for First Ladies to share experiences, among other opportunities that empower women, the girl child and improve their welfare across the globe. It also highlights interventions by Merck Foundation, which have improved healthcare, education as well as curb Gender-Based violence across Africa and Asia. I am grateful to the foundation which in partnership with my philanthropic arm @angelofhopezw has provided opportunities for health practitioners to further their training in critical and underserved specialties.

As the nation's health ambassador, I am giving priority to a school feeding program in each of Zimbabwe's ten provinces because I am dedicated to the welfare of children and it reflects the country's shared vision for a healthier and more prosperous Zimbabwe. While I was in the Midlands Province last week, I fed thousands of school kids and gave 30 tonnes of maize meal to schools as part of the feeding program, which gives kids the energy they need to learn and improves their cognitive and all-around skills. Children that are nourished well will be more engaged and attentive.

October is breast cancer awareness month. As Health Ambassador of Zimbabwe I worked to provide free breast and cervical cancer screening services to many that includes Government Officials in Harare and its environs. These health services also included diabetes, hypertension checks, HIV testing and counselling as well as family planning support services to women. It is indeed a robust campaign to promote cancer screening and prevention of such diseases to save lives.

As Zimbabweโs tourism patron, I was honoured with a special invite to the Dominican Republic by UN Tourism and the Dominican Republic Government for the inaugural UN Tourism Africa & Americas Summit in recognition of my role in promoting cultural tourism, particularly gastronomy. I also had the privilege to interact with women farmers involved in Casa Sombra which is a community greenhouse project modelled around similar concepts as the Agric4she programme for which I am the patron in Zimbabwe. They are undertaking farming with the guidance of Superate Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Family Farming Programme. I invited the women to Zimbabwe for exchange programmes with their counterparts.

In my quest to see widows living through dignified means I launched the First Lady's Widows Association for Matebeleland South, Matebeleland North and Bulawayo Metropolitan provinces. This comes after the successful launch of the same association in five provinces. I am glad that through my philanthropic arm, Angel of Hope Foundation, I managed to mobilise an assortment of goods, chicks and feed, that were distributed to the three aforementioned provinces for widows to kick-start small small scale retailing and poultry projects. The programme will be taken to the remaining provinces.

As the country's patron for tourism, I feel honoured to have officially opened the 17th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo at the ZITF Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo. The Expo, which saw over 400 local companies exhibiting, was also graced by foreign exhibitors from at least seven countries. I was delighted to know that tourism has become one of the major contributors to the country's fiscus and that it has been on the top since January this year. It was also an honour presenting accolades to exhibitors who distinguished themselves at this year's edition. The expo was running under the theme: "Tourism and Peace."

I was in Manicaland Province , Makoni District for "Afrikana Family humanism" programme a few days ago after the successful launch in Midlands Province, Gweru last month. The main thrust of this programme is to restore sanity in marriages after receiving reports of promiscuity in marriages from both men and women on Gender Based Violence toll free line 575 which is in my office. There was a huge turnout and some of the testimonies were pointing to the inaugural programme in Gweru. I also managed to distribute some groceries to the attendees.

I was delighted to host a week long Inaugural First Lady's National Boys Camp after successfully hosting First Lady's Girls Camp early this year where I am nurturing, grooming and empowering school pupils from Grades 4-7 with life skills that include actively participating in household chores and enhancing team work among others. All the 10 Provinces are represented. There are also experienced facilitators who are also imparting life lessons to the youngsters.

Concerned by the rise in promiscuity, domestic violence, and divorce, I launched the โAfrikana Family Humanismโ programme in Gweru, Midlands Province, to address the challenges our families face. I was struck by the pain and frustration shared by many women, who felt driven to consider drastic actions due to prolonged mistreatment, while men shared their concerns as well. As a mother, I believe two wrongs do not make a right. We must protect the sanctity of marriage and foster homes filled with love, peace, and understanding. Through our toll-free line 575, I will continue to support couples and combat gender-based violence. I am committed to taking this programme to every province in our nation to help build stronger, more harmonious families.

Last week I took professionals from various fields to Bindura where they interacted with thousands of learners from Mashonaland Central Province during my Career Guidance, Grooming and Stay in School Campaign. This programme allows children to focus on areas of study they want to pick careers from and avoid things that distract them like drug and substance abuse. Drugs destroy lives and robs one of her/his potential. Also staying in school, is not about fulfilling an obligation, but is about building a foundation upon which the learners could construct their dreams. I am happy the learners showed eagerness to learn and collected as much information as they wanted.
