Agree and disagree. Commission is a business transaction and each side is responsible for their part. Both party should set a time line they agree on. And PayPal protection only last 180 days so after that you're at the other person's mercy hoping they will finish.

The artist is responsible to manage their work load and schedule. Some take more than what they can handle and they get burnt out or overworked thus cause delay. And communication is super important, things happen but no reason to take a year to finish a commission.

TBH I'm very hesitant of doing art raffle again because my experience with the winner hasn't been the best. They don't care about the art it's just free shiet. Honestly I'd rather draw the prize for someone who appreciates/like my art than just getting something because it's free
