I am very excited that my policy analysis of U.S. Taiwan strategy has now been published by @jqasociety. I suspect this paper will be of use to anyone who seeks to better understand the obstacles and options the US has when it comes to Taiwan and China.

@alancornett Are you familiar with Karl Jasper's idea of the Axial Age/Eric Voegelin's similar idea of the Ecumenic Age?

Okay great. This is a small list, I can recommend a lot more, but I think this is probably good to start with. Purchase a used copy of the textbook "Political Philosophy: A History of the Search for Order" by James L. Wiser. I am not sure how familiar you are with the subject, so the following recommendations are a suggested reading order, though by no means are you required to stick to it. "The Ideology of Democratism" by Emily Finely "War Before Civilization: The Myth of the Peaceful Savage" by Lawrence H. Keeley "The New Jacobins: America as Revolutionary State" by Claes Ryn "The Revolt of the Masses" by Jose Ortega y Gasset "America the Virtuous: The Crisis of Democracy and the Quest for Empire" by Claes Ryn "Democracy and Leadership" by Irving Babbit "Eric Voegelin: The Restoration of Order" by Michael Federici The one volume collection called "Modernity Without Restraint" which is comprised of the following short books "The Political Religions, The New Science of Poltics, and Science Politics and Gnosticism" by Eric Voegelin. This volume is pricey, so might want to get it or the individual books via the library. I can also recommend some important shorter papers and essays if you are interested. Let me know and happy to chat about any of the books if you end up reading one.
