After becoming an entrepreneur I quickly realized that it wasn't smarts, hard work, or even luck that was the defining characteristic of the successful. It was resilience. The journey is punishing and full of setbacks, and most will not endure to see success.

An asinine response. In crises like this we never know if we overreacted, but as shit we know if we underreacted. If fatalities don't add up to what's expected you'd scream it was all for nothing, yet we can never know what would have happened if we didn't react the way we did.
This market manipulation by govs and banksters has gone on too long! Time to end their tyranny and price the metal at what it truly should be! Go down to your local hardware store and clear them out of galvanized nails today!

Say hello to Oscar, twitter. So far he's demonstrated himself to be highly efficient, having arrived into this world only 15 minutes after we got to the hospital. While I appreciate his commitment, a bit more breathing room would have been welcome.

I heard it mentioned elsewhere, but if NATO countries offered up a visa and a path to citizenship for every Russian soldier who deserted, Putin would have no one left to fight for him in days.
I did "duty day" at my younger son's preschool last week and talked to them about rocks, metals and mining. It was incredibly well-received with the kids enjoying photos of big trucks, rock samples, and microscopes. Never be ashamed to talk positively about mining!
For those who missed it, Goldman Sachs has raised their 12-month targets for most base metals. Aluminum to $1.59/lb, Copper to $5.44/lb and Zinc to $1.81/lb. Place your bets.

Likewise, raised by a single mother in Canada. Once a month we'd go to Baskin Robbins as a treat. We were allowed a single scoop, but very rarely she felt flush enough with cash we could add sprinkles. Seems surreal to me now.
Looks like 2023 is shaping up to be the worst year in decades. Time to acknowledge that Canada is a place to find good geology and geologists, but not money. I question the utility of a Canadian listing going forward.
Here it is, my letter to Iacocca. Part of me is mortified to post this, but I feel it is a good habit to refused to be embarrassed by your past, especially the stupid letters you wrote at 12 years old. Enjoy.
Just a little glimpse behind the Wizard's curtain. What you see, and what's really happening. This obviously will raise questions for a lot of people, and I will be answering none of them.
Funny how I'm getting blocked here because I'm "leftist", but my legitimately left friends consider me obnoxiously right-wing.
Truth is I just like arguing.
Interested in mining exploration and geology? This free memoir of Richard Sillitoe's career should be considered essential reading if you are. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into it, along with many other books, during my time off.

Afghanistan situation just hit home. A friend there, with whom I had worked on a project to modernize gemstone mining, just reached out to ask for a letter to support his refugee claim to Canada. Because of his work with foreigners he fears for the safety of his family & himself.

Only the most shameless CEOs would capitalize on a big day for silver to remind the market they have a butt-tonne of silver in their resource, especially when it's not a silver primary resource. Disgusting, too, the way they remind everyone how much it will likely grow.
I hit 6000 followers today and they are definitely all real. Especially the beautiful young women who follow me then immediately send me a DM. They are definitely real because I am definitely handsome and cool to 20-something women. Definitely.
Given we apparently need an insane amount of copper in the coming decades and it so often comes with gold as a byproduct, has anyone done the math on the expected increase in gold production if we actually hit these lofty goals for copper? Could this be bearish gold price?

Let's talk more about skills shortages in mining. When investors see a pubco with low G&A, they typically think "lean and efficient", but if that company is active a low G&A means they are relying heavily on external contractors. This may not be good, and may be very bad. 1/n
I'm in London, unofficially for LME Week, and I'd suggest junior mining retail start to pay attention to the base metals markets. It's a strong market, with lots of action on the horizon, yet juniors haven't budged yet. Early indicator of what's to come?
I think we hit something like the first, second and fifth best holes on the project in 2022. Really reflects how our understanding is improving. Imagine what we'll hit this summer.

Undoubtedly large amounts of investors will view softening Cu/Al/Zn prices as bearish without failing to understand why this is happening. China selling stockpiles to control prices is incredibly bullish junior miners.
Can this news cycle please move on? I really don't want to filter a generic name like "Smith" from my feed, and sure as hell as a geologist I'm not filtering "Rock".
