Sad to say goodbye to Mrs Smith as she retired today. Huge thanks to her for all her (many) years of service to our children, school and community. Hope you have a wonderful retirement!
Lovely to chat to so many people at the end of the day today and to hear such nice comments about our staff who are doing an amazing job helping our children stay safe and calm. We appreciate all the support you are giving us. Thank You
Socially Distanced retirement ‘round of applause’ for Mrs Hughes and Mrs Lloyd. Not the way we wanted to say goodbye and thank you but the best we could manage
@WhughesMlloyd
Massively important message- lots of pupils playing out today and mixing together. Please, please keep your children safe in your home with you or with you out and about away from others. Social distancing means we need not to be spending time together unless we have to. Thanks
Hugely proud to have been awarded this from
@InvestFamilies
today, in recognition of all the hard work all of our staff and families have put in during the past year
#TeamMaesglas
Has been a rollercoaster of a half term. As always the children have been amazing but the support and kind words from parents have kept us going through rain and shine. Have a great half term and see you Nov 2nd.
Big shout out to all the pupils and parents who came in to school this week either for a check in session or to collect reports. It made me smile with my heart to see you all. Looking forward to seeing even more of you next week. Enjoy your weekend 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Well this is exciting too! Lots of ‘wow’ comments as they entered the hall. We forget how much these little things mean (to me as well as the children)
These are tough times for all but the generosity of the parents has blown us away. My car is full of donations for
@holywell_parish
food club. Huge thanks to all for your kindness and willingness to help those in need at this time.
I’m sure you will all join me in wishing

Mrs Pearce starts her maternity leave. Amazed at how many year 6 girls had not noticed what is a fairly noticeable bump! Will give you details of new baby Pearce sometime early June
What a fab day! Thank you so much everyone for reinstating the Greenfield Carnival! We have loved the day! Thanks all who helped to organise it. Time for a BBQ I think...
Many thanks to neighbours who came to help out after some antisocial behaviour on the school premises this evening. Please call 101 if you see people on the grounds destroying property.
@NurseryMaesglas
have worked so hard it would be a shame to see it broken for the little ones!
Just a quick Friday night message to say thanks again for all your support. These are tough times and we appreciate the kind words you have sent us. We are trying our hardest to keep everyone safe in every way. Have a good weekend all.
Well that six weeks went fast! From some of the tweets I’ve seen perhaps not for all of you 🤣remember we start back bright and early on Monday 2nd! Breakfast club open as usual at 8:10. School starts at 8:40. Excited to see them all 🤩
Polite notice- whilst we appreciate that the road outside the school gates is a public road and you have the right to park anywhere other than the zig zags... please respect the safe space for Gaynor to cross our pupils over the road. It is for the safety of our pupils&parents.
Morning All! Just to let you know we are treating today as a normal lastday of term. Trying to keep the children reassured and relaxed and not adding to their uncertainty and confusion if we can avoid it. There will be more info out in the day as I get it. Happy Friday 👍🏼
2/2 Headteacher’s awards to everybody in the Maesglas community (parents,pupils and staff) for developing their Cooperation skills (like Clive)this week! Please don’t everybody ask for a postcard. I haven’t got enough!

Aldi’s Kit for Schools promotion is giving primary schools the chance to win £20,000 to start a health legacy. Schools enter by completing a Sticker poster and will receive a school sports kit. Collect a sticker with every £30 spent in store and help fill our school poster!
Bore Da Pawb -bit of a different start to my usual Monday. But it’s time to think about the learning power we are developing this week. I think Cooperative Clive seems appropriate-more about him later!
The face of a very proud year 5 who has received a letter from
@DavidHansonMP
agreeing with her that climate change should not be ignored. Lots of ideas how we can work together for a better, greener future.
@mroldfieldymg
Many thanks for all your questionnaire responses, phone calls and emails. We now know how many children are likely to attend our in-school check in sessions. We will give you further information once the time tables are sorted next week. Looking forward to seeing kids👋👍🏼🤣
Morning All. Just a reminder we are open for the next two days. We are awaiting an announcement today about what will happen for those of you who are ‘key workers’ and those with Free School Meals. We will be sending more information about home learning in the next two days.TIA
Thanks to all who were able to pop in to say hello to the teachers today. Lovely to hear how the children are settling in and telling you all about their work and their friends.
It was a cold and wet night but we walked through the forest and had some quiet time without our torches listening to the wind and rain. And sheep! Looking forward to pyjamas and a film (and maybe some hot chocolate
