The New York Knicks are now hard capped to the $178.7 million first apron by taking back more salary than they're sending out. This will have roster-building implications. They could still re-sign OG Anunoby and Isaiah Hartenstein, but they'll need to reduce payroll elsewhere.

By my count, the Brooklyn Nets now have a surplus of 15 first-round picks over the next seven drafts. They are projected to generate north of $60 million in 2025 cap space. They are in a position to chase stars but also bottom out and rebuild with their 2025 swap returned.
