Oh absolutely. Heck I started for free too. And eventually I did have to spend money myself, I will say things do get easier when you invest a bit, whether it’s time, money, or both. That’s why I wanted to discuss and mention the things I did because it’s much more nuanced than saying you can Vtube for 0 dollars. The end of the day you can Vtube for free, your mileage may vary how far it takes you since every journey is different. I would say it really depends on the route someone wants to take, how much they truly want to invest, and how they want to represent themselves.

@pheesekai That’s true not everyone is looking to make money, but once you’re an affiliate, it goes from not being commercial to commercial, at that point it wouldn’t matter what the intention is since it’s at that point it becomes commercial and that could lead to bigger issues.

That is true, however I would argue that time is still a cost, and even then not everyone has time, is willing, or can make their own model. Even then there’s another point a lot of booth models are free but not commercially available for usage, the tos needs to be read. The other source, inazuma doesn’t allow their stuff to be used commercially for free either.

I think I know who you’re talking about and yes, I agree, it’s possible to get into vtubing for free, and I don’t think I said or meant that it’s not within our reality, just that there is a lot that goes into it, free or otherwise, and that the og post saying you can be one for free, it is a common thing said but rarely is the nuance ever provided, or is it ever talked about with how hard it will be going down that route.

@YourSupportGeko That is true. Though I would say time management is def easier for some than others. The other thing to account for too is how people learn at different speeds. A lot of people may want to move into VTubing immediately, but not everyone can because everyone learns differently.
