Peer pressure! These 6th graders came up at lunch duty and said, “will you do a tik tok with us?” I said, “let me think about it. Some of the songs aren’t school appropriate”. They played the song. They then came 5 mins later and said, “you ready?” it’s ok to have fun at school?

We are doing something new and posting pics with students when we catch them doing the right thing. This young lady found 20 dollars in the gym and turned it in. The owner retrieved it before the day was over!

The last month of planning was, at times, tiring. Getting Ss back in the building and interacting with them made me realize how much we missed them & why we planned so hard. I can’t say enough about how supportive the community has been. The YCS/YMS staff has been incredible.

Farewell to my old friend. I have paced many miles in this cafeteria and saw about everything you can witness. I actually enjoy lunch duty with middle schoolers (I know 🤪). It is indeed the best time to get to know students. We move into our new space after break. Until then...

Super cool moment yesterday. Mr. Byard, our maintenance director, delivered some raw materials to a couple of students who have started their own fishing jig business. They were thrilled! Mr. Mardis was able to be a part of watching his grandson be surprised too! Bravo.

I have more opportunities to coach my girl, but today was her last day in a league that has been very positive and provided great experiences for all 3 of my children. I was afforded the opportunity to coach and spend time with all of them. I will always cherish the time spent.
