Still very much a work in progress, but it’s safe to say that things have improved at Ynystawe Park in the four months since we took on the lease from the council 🏟⚽️

Attendances last night…. Briton Ferry 322.Llanelli Town 301.Cwmamman 205.Penydarren 121. Ynystawe 333!!!. Absolutely incredible!! Never in a million years did we ever think we would get bigger crowds than clubs of that stature. Massive thanks to everyone who came to our game.

2 years after taking on the maintenance of our pitches it is a great honour to be asked by the WWFA to host the Under 16 West Wales Cup semi final on Saturday ⚽️🏆. Thankfully the pitch has survived all of the wet weather lately and has come up nicely today ahead of the game.

Outstanding day for the club with the first team going away to a very strong West End Rangers side and coming away with a 2-1 victory following on from both reserve teams winning their games!! Nine 16 year olds involved across the teams as well and everyone of them was superb!!.

Great day out yesterday down Narberth in the West Wales Cup. Can't beat a last minute winner after being down to ten men after half hour. Top effort from the boys on the pitch and superb support from those on the touch line.

You know the club is in a decent place when you have over 50 boys in Benidorm for the end of season tour, and our top scorer from last season is committing the rest of his career to us with tattoo’s like that 😂

Just so clubs in our league are aware…don’t order a bus for a West Wales Cup game if you have a reserve cup game the week after, as the league will make you play it&be happy to see you go to an away game with no support&lose money on the bus 🤦♂️😂 Bravo Swansea League Council 👏🏻.

Match day 3 is here in the @PremierWales ⚽️⚽️. With just 1.6 miles between each teams home grounds this really is a proper local derby, so we should have another cracking game ahead of us. Our clubhouse is open from 4:30pm for pre match refreshments.

We all love a moan about the pitches, but with a bit of work & communication between ourselves & Matthew Bolt at the council & all his staff, we have managed to get Ynystawe Park looking the best it has for years!! Looking forward to two home games down there tomorrow now ⚽️

Second time in a couple of months now 😢 honestly what is the point!! @SwanseaCouncil we really need some support in getting it fenced off as otherwise it’s pointless us spending time and money on looking after it on a voluntary basis.
This is so heartbreaking - so much time spent getting Ynystawe Parc cricket square looking so good. Puts cricket at risk for 2022 @ClydachCC @swpolice @SwanseaCouncil - off road bikers still getting away with it.

Absolutely superb to see a top,young lad in Corey get his chance at the Swans. The ability&attitude he showed over the years while playing for us certainly showed he deserves a chance in the pro game! Special mention to Adrian Crabtree (@ACrabtree04) who coached Corey up to U16s.

Great start to the season yesterday as the Firsts produced a superb team performance to defeat a very good @merlinsbridge team 3-0 in the FAW Trophy. Special mention to the four 17 year olds playing in their first competitive games for the club, outstanding performances!!.

First signing of the summer complete ✍️ and it is a big one as we welcome back striker Casey Coughlin. Following a successful end to the season with Swansea Uni where Casey added 9 goals to the 22 he scored for Ynystawe at the start of last season it is great to have him back!!

2nd signing of the summer is an exciting young attacking player who moves from Penlan having been part of their successful squad that won the last 2 West Wales Cups, with Josh scoring the winning goal in the 22/23 final. Josh had a great debut for us yest. scoring after 30 mins.

What a manic & highly entertaining game the local derby turned out to be last night. Somehow, we got the win against a Clydach side who pushed us all the way. Brilliant crowd & atmosphere once again. Never had a ref ask us to “calm the crowd down” before last night.

Devastating news to hear about the passing of our former player Liam Richards (Elfy). Tragic to lose someone at such a young age, but even more so when he was a such a brilliant, happy character who was liked by all. Our thoughts are with his friends & family at this sad time.

The most remarkable day of football for the club yesterday. 3rds come from 3-0 down to beat top of the table Kilvey 4-3. 2nds play 80 mins with 10 men due to injury and still win 2-1. 1sts equalise in the last minute to come from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 and win 7-6 on penalties.

A great game yesterday backed by a big crowd saw 2 teams go toe to toe for the full 90 mins, with @RockspurFords showing why they are current champions with a very late equaliser to force a 1 all draw that was a fair result. Another very promising performance from our young side.

Not to be for us yesterday as we pushed Welsh league side Penydarren all the way only to lose 2-1 with them scoring a cracking goal in the last 10 minutes. Great effort from the boys though & we appreciated all the support on the line from a lot of other Swansea league teams.
