Tariffs Hello everyone, I wanted to come out and talk about the scary word "tariffs" and how it will affect Yipp Yapp. While there have always been tariffs from countries like China, there was a provision called de minimis, which allowed small orders under $800 to be exempt from these tariffs to support small businesses. However, companies like Temu and Amazon abused this provision, which led to its removal by the current administration. While not all of our products come from China directly, some do and will be affected both in cost and shipping time. And with the current situation this administration is in, I won't be surprised if more tariffs on more countries are implemented in the future. We wish we didn't have to rely on overseas manufacturers, but with the complexity of our products not being a standard square print on a shirt, we have to use manufacturers with more advanced equipment. We have tried to find manufacturers in the U.S. capable of creating our products, but we have not found any who can. For example, for the Seasons Hoodie embroidery arm, we could only find one company in the U.S. that was able to do it, and they said it would cost $80 per sleeve, JUST for the arm sleeve. Key takeaway from this: SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES, especially within the furry community. Steer away from large companies like Amazon, Temu, and even the furry merch at Spencer's and Hot Topic.
