The show was performed to 2 sell out audiences, and 2 performances to local primary schools and was a huge success.
An amazing effort today from our Y7/Y8 pupils at the SWFC Girls Tournament, they showed excellent courage and resilience throughout the day in challenging weather conditions! They managed to reach the semi-finals before a narrow defeat, Miss Sowerby is VERY proud of you.

On Friday 11th November it is Remembrance Day (Armistice Day) we will be holding a 2-minutes silence at 11am.
We are so proud of our JLT who are running the Poppy Appeal at Yewlands this year.
Poppies are worn as a show of support for the Armed Forces community.

Fantastic result last night for our Y7 Football team who secured their first win for Yewlands beating local rivals Chaucer 7-0! Attitude and behaviour walking to Chaucer and at the game was outstanding.

Yesterday, we took our U13 netball team to Park Academy. The improvement since September was fantastic and secured us a 6-0 win. Massive thank you to Park Academy for hosting. Well done to all the girls & shout out to Emily C for oppositions player of the match.
Today our Y7/8 team took part in the SWFC Girls Football Tournament - They played amazingly well and managed to reach the semi-finals which is a fantastic achievement. Miss Sowerby couldn't be prouder and can't wait to start girls football training after the Christmas break!
Fantastic day today from 07:00 until 19:00 as Brigantia Learning Trust took over 160 students from Yewlands and Hinde House to Snowzone, in preparation for our Italy Ski Trip in January. We can’t wait to hit the slopes!

Yewlands' Restart a Heart Day was a great success, with 163 of our Y8s now trained in how to perform CPR.
The ambulance service was impressed with the politeness of Yewlands students, and the curiosity shown through the sessions.
Yesterday 80 of our pupils got rewarded for being the top 20 pupils in their year for the most house points this half term.
Y11s were awarded with a McDonald's lunch.
Y7-10 were awarded with a cinema afternoon in the main hall with a variety of treats 🍿🍪🍬

12 teams representing our family of schools competed across 18 games of Basketball at Yewlands this afternoon. Well done to all who took part and represented their schools. Behaviour and attitudes were outstanding. 112 players took part, scoring 132 baskets in 18 games.
Well done to our Y8 Cricket team who represented us in the Yorkshire Cricket Board U13 Super 8 competition. We played very well all day, and beat Westbourne School in our final game. Special mention for our leading run scorer Jude, and leading wicket taker Charlie. Well done all!

Great performance and result for our Y7 Football team yesterday. Made the short trip to Firth Park and came back with a 5-3 Victory. A really strong and committed team performance, with Riley being adjudged man of the match on his debut. Well done boys!
Yesterday 6 teams came to Yewlands to take part in a Y6 Sports Hall Athletics competition. The attitude, engagement and effort was fantastic. Thanks to all who took part, and to the Y10 Sports Leaders who did a great job. Congratulations to Parson Cross primary who won the event.

On Tuesday the house leaders ran a KS3 House Football tournament. We had over 50+ pupils attending to play for points for their houses. There was some fantastic football played and some close matches resulting in a penalty shootout finish.
On Wednesday Yewlands welcomed 6 Y4 and Y5 Dodgeball teams from across our family of schools. All of the teams played in 6 games each, with Grenoside School running out as the winners.
Earlier this week we held our 2nd Fundamentals Festival. This time Y1&Y2 Pupils from Grenoside and Foxhill schools joined us. The Y10 sportsleaders were again outstanding. Thank you to everyone who supported the event

Another fantastic day of building new friendships across the trust in London with the Hinde House and Yewlands Linking Project. A great visit to the Science Museum, a whistle stop tour of the V&A and a great visit to the Houses of Parliament with a debating workshop.
A great day out with our Y9s at the EIS 'The Girl Can Event'. Our girls showed fantastic effort and engagement and were a credit to the school in every activity they tried. It is clear to see the enjoy on their faces on the pictures.

Tonight we took our Y7/8 rounders team on the first fixture of the year against Notre Dame High School. For some pupils this was their first time representing the Academy, the girls showed great attitude and teamwork and WON 9 1/2 - 8 rounders. Thanks to Notre Dame for hosting!

Macbeth – Breakout Arts
Breakout Arts, a Rotherham based arts company, visited Yewlands Academy and performed Shakespeare’s Macbeth to all Year 10 and 11 students. The production was dramatic and engaging, helping prepare students for their GCSE English Literature exam.

We are looking forward to celebrating world book day tomorrow. Students are welcome to join us, wearing a book inspired costume. Otherwise, it is a normal school uniform day.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the Y4 Hot-Shots Basketball Festival such a success. We hosted 15 teams from 5 Primary Schools. The standard of play, enthusiasm and attitude were excellent. An extra thank you to the Y9 students who helped to referee the games.
An Inspector Calls – Lyceum Theatre Trip
Over 130 Year 11 Yewlands Academy students visited Sheffield’s Lyceum theatre to watch a multi award-winning National Theatre production of JB Priestley’s classic thriller ‘An Inspector Calls’.
Last night we hosted our first ever spelling bee which was a huge success! A massive thank you to Miss Amesbury for hosting the event! Don were the overall winners, a shout out to Kainos G Y8 who was the winning pupil tonight. House leaders can't wait for the next one! Well done!

Our current Year 11 Period 7 timetable. With much smaller classes, students are given more 1:1 support. Although it costs £30ph+ for a tutor to provide additional support, we are proudly offering it for free. Please encourage your children to join our sessions.
Thank you to all students who embraced world book day today by wearing themed dress. Many students showed real creativity and contributed to a positive atmosphere around school. From tomorrow, students are expected to wear normal uniform as usual. Thank you.
