6 years ago today, Alex Rodriguez played his final game for the Yankees.
He was released the following day to make room on the roster for an outfield prospect named Aaron Judge.
You know, if Taillon came out and got shelled, Verlander shoved, and we lost like 5-0 like I expected, I could deal with it.
But Verlander didn’t have his best stuff, Taillon did his job, and we pissed away a winnable game with bad offense and bad bullpen decisions. Frustrating.
Doing my best to live healthy. I’m 86 pounds down in the last two years. I readily acknowledge that I have a long way to go, but it’s a challenge that I’m up for. I’ve never felt healthier and more optimistic. I’m proud of the progress I’ve made and I’m not ashamed of how I look.
BREAKING: New York
#Yankees
catcher Gary Sanchez has requested a trade.
#Giants
,
#Padres
, and
#Angels
appear to be leading suitors.
Request stems from a stated desire by Sanchez to be near his son, David Price.
According to my Twitter timeline, the Yankees have acquired Max Scherzer, Joey Gallo, Kris Bryant, Mike Trout, Babe Ruth, Greg Maddux, Madonna, Tom Brady, and Jeff Bezos in just a few hours.
I’m putting this out there right now. If Judge gets to 60 home runs, we need all hands on deck to make sure Zack Hample doesn’t get his greasy little hands on
#61
or
#62
.
My scale used to be unable to measure my weight because I was too heavy. It would give me an error message.
Today I’m at 355 pounds. 75 pounds down from my peak.
A long way to go, but it’s further than I ever thought I’d get.
The Astros lost Cole, Correa, Springer, and two years of Justin Verlander. It didn’t matter.
They extended Altuve, Bregman, Alvarez, and McCullers. They built an elite pitching staff. They gave their top prospects opportunities.
That’s what a winning franchise looks like.
Honestly, the Yankees logic with putting Judge at lead off is “none of these schmucks get on base anyway, so we might as well just make sure he gets the most at-bats.”
If Aaron Judge doesn’t win the MVP, we might as well not even give out the award for the next 8-10 years.
They’re just gonna give it to Ohtani every time he has a healthy season.
The states of New York and New Jersey have…
3 NFL teams
2 NBA teams
2 MLB teams
4 NHL teams
And none of them have a title since the 2011 Giants.
And people wonder why we’re so pissed off all the time.
Aaron Judge
Giancarlo Stanton
Gerrit Cole
Luis Severino
Jonathan Loaisiga
If I’m in charge at Yankees HQ, I’m putting those names on a whiteboard and saying those are the 5 guys I want to build around.
No one else’s spot should be secure.
Buster Olney reported that the Yankees are working on something bigger than signing Carlos Rodon.
If he’s not referring to Correa, what do we think that means?
Brian Cashman indicated that Bryce Harper isn’t a fit for the
#Yankees
. Said the team already has six outfielders and that playing Harper at first base isn’t realistic.

It’s weird to say but…I’m kind of at peace with the loss already.
I just didn’t see it with this team. Not since June anyway. 2017 and 2019 hurt a lot more because I saw it at certain points in October with those teams. And I believed until the end.
This one felt inevitable.
Last year, the Yankees kept resetting the standard for “worst loss of the year.”
This year, they keep resetting the standard for “best win of the year.”
People need to realize that what
@Jared_Carrabis
does is a bit. It’s comedy. It’s his job.
I’ve met him, he’s a really good guy. You may not like his tweets. You may think his bit is stale. But at the end of the day, it’s baseball.
Threatening him in real life is unacceptable.
Think about this…
From 2001-2010, Albert Pujols never had an OPS below .955. He batted over .300 every year, never had less than 32 home runs, never had a wRC+ lower than 150, and his LOWEST WAR in that time was 5.4.
Prime Pujols was an absolute monster.
The Yankees took $50 million off the Twins payroll for the next 2 years as well as clearing their SS position so they could go sign Carlos Correa.
I’m fucking done.
After the Yankees lost in 2019, my then-gf came into my dorm, saw me distraught, and reminded me that I needed to get up early the next day for brunch with her family. All Red Sox fans. Wasn’t pretty.
Today, she texted me for the first time in forever “wanna join us for brunch?”
I’m just laughing at Mets fans getting on their high horse about the way the Yankees fans treated Joey Gallo as though they didn’t spend 3 years calling their superstar closer “Edlose Diaz.”
Under Boone, the Yankees’ lows are very low and they drag on.
2018: Started 50-22, then went 18-19
2020: Started 16-6, then went 5-15
2021: Started 28-19, then went 23-28
2022: Started 61-23, then went 18-31
2023: Started 36-25, then went 26-43
2024: Started 49-21, now are 6-16
I used to hate the Astros for taking what I felt was ours in 2017 and 2019. I hated them because I didn’t think they were better than us.
I don’t hate the Astros anymore. I hate the people who have done this to the Yankees.
You know what? The Yankees are absolutely right. It’s the fans’ fault that they played like garbage against Houston.
I know what will fix it. No fans show up to the games next year. That’ll get the Yankees right back on track.
Just today:
The Cardinals lost to the Diamondbacks
The Padres lost to the Pirates
The Braves lost to the Rangers
The Red Sox lost to the Orioles
The Dodgers lost to the Tigers
But tell me more about how easy and unimpressive it is to win 8 games in a row vs bad teams.
The Orioles have been a thorn in the side of the rest of the AL East.
They are 2-8 vs the Yankees and 8-5 against everyone else in the division since April 26th.
I’m not upset that the Yankees don’t have Adam Ottavino anymore, I’m upset that he didn’t fucking throw strikes in the 2019 ALCS or at all in 2020, but NOW he fucking wants to.
So the Yankees had 5 days off, played on Tuesday night, had an off day for no reason beyond TV, and now have another day off before potentially playing 4 games in 4 days.
A+ work, MLB.
If the Yankees miss the playoffs, I won’t think back to the many blown saves, I won’t think back to the anemic at times offense, and I won’t think back to the awful start.
I’ll think back to the 8 games we lost to the worst team in baseball.
