This was a historic earthquake. Looks like the 3rd strongest in NC history. Others like this was a 5.5 magnitude quake around Asheville in 1916 and a 5.2 in Mitchell County in 1926. The last earthquake to cause any damage in NC was the Henderson County earthquake back in 1981.

Models are starting to agree a little more. Euro keeps this around longer and GFS still has more of a freezing rain, sleet mix through Charlotte. These will change but this is trending more and more as a significant winter storm.

A major hurricane is forecast to make landfall in Florida on Thursday. Right now a good consensus has a chance at a category 3 or stronger before landfall. This one is originating in the same spot as Hurricane Michael and could rapidly intensify like it starting on Wednesday.
