Comparing the last three months (NDJ 2024-25) to the previous years, it should be very easy to see the cooling impact of La Niña across the tropics (-0.44°C change). Global cooling is slight: -0.04°C However, internal natural climate variability can yield different weather patterns randomly from year to year. Abnormal warmth across the Northern Hemisphere midlatitudes in Eurasia dominate the "warmer" areas this winter vs. last winter. That's it.
